As penance for his betrayal, Aoyama announced his departure from UA, while Shinso finally gets an open spot to move into the hero course and join the class. The chapter also featured a mysterious character with a distinctly villainous look emerging from underground, suggesting that there may be one last challenge for My Hero Academia's protagonists before the end.

The chapter ended with Midoriya speaking to Todoroki, who was on his way to visit his father. Endeavor was shown to be in a wheelchair, although whether that's a temporary measure or something more permanent isn't quite clear. Endeavor was sitting before a massive tank, in which a shadowed figure lay, seemingly recovering. It's highly likely that this figure may actually be Dabi, who, despite all odds, seems to have survived the final battle.

The Todoroki Family's Drama May Finally Be at an End

With such a heavy focus on Shoto, Endeavor, and the shadowed figure in the tank, it seems likely that chapter 426 will be dealing with the Todoroki family one last time. While it appeared that Dabi might have incinerated himself in his final attack, the person in the tank is almost certainly Dabi (or what remains of him). It might've been easier for Shoto and Endeavor to deal with it if Dabi had died then and there, but things aren't always quite so simple. This could make for a fantastic capstone to Endeavor's redemption, so the next chapter may be very interesting.

Of course, there's also the issue of the mysterious new character who was introduced in the final pages of 425. Wielding scissors and wearing a face mask, this individual was shown crying as they emerged from a tunnel barefoot, stepping into the ruins of a city. They have a distinctly villainous look to them, suggesting this might be a new antagonist for one final arc. If Deku intends to live up to what he said to Shigaraki--that the old world and its flaws truly are gone--then this might be the perfect opportunity to prove just how things are different by coming to this individual's aid before they turn evil.

My Hero Academia's epilogue arc will be an interesting opportunity to showcase the world after the final battle, something that relatively few manga series get to do. Hopefully, it will catch up with many of the characters and plot threads which are still left hanging at the moment. At this rate, it seems there may be several chapters of My Hero Academia yet to come, so fans can rejoice at getting to spend a little more time with these characters before it all ends.
