biden campaign. and biden never scored. he couldn't even leave the debate stage without help from a doctor. jill escorting him down a 6-inch step like they were descending mount kilimanjaro. it was such a catastrophic performance that the emotion i felt was pity. after he choked at minute 13 it was like watching an old journeyman fighter in there with the champ. getting outclassed and peppered with jabs and hooks and the corner guy asking, you still want to go back out there? the faces of americans around the country watching the debate told the whole story. it was over when he stepped into the ring. during the debate, the biden campaign leaked to the media that biden had a cold. i have never had a cold that bad. when the debate was over, the campaign fed kamala harris to the wolves. >> he was a very different person on the stage four years ago when you debated him. you must -- that is certainly true, is it not? >> i got the point that you're

making about a one half hour debate tonight. i am talking about three and a half years of performance in work that has been historic. weather it be infrastructure -- [ simultaneous talking ] >> you see this every day? >> i'm not going to spend all night with you talking up at the last 90 minutes. when i have been watching the last three years of performance. >> jesse: when anderson cooper is interrogating kamala harris like a republican you know it is a calamity. she could not spin it and the democrats had to leave the spin room early. their job is literally to spin and joe was so bad they could not do it. they just left. the only one left willing to spin was the first lady. >> joe, you did such a great job. you answered every question, you knew all the facts. [ cheering and applause ] and let me ask the crowd. what did trump do? lie!

>> jesse: that is how my wife talks to jesse junior when he says his abc's. little joey, you did so well. you want a waffle? yeah,, jill took him to a waffle house for being a good little debater. you tried your best, that's all that counts. >> i think we did well. >> do you have any concerns about your performance? >> no, it's hard to debate a liar. it's hard to point out when he lies 26 times. big lies. >> jesse: do you see the woman in line standing at the waffle house at midnight? president walks in, she doesn't even turn around. she's what, who's that? no one should have been shocked that biden flopped. if you have been paying attention, biden has been like this for four years. he was like this before the last election. they have just kept him hidden

now he is been exposed without his training wheels to 50 million people. they cannot cover for him. today he looked like he had a concussion. >> i love him from the start! [ cheering and applause ] i saw in him then, the same character that i seen him today. and even though he has faced unimaginable tragedies, his optimism is undaunted. >> jesse: all day, democrats have been openly discussing replacing him at the convention. we will have more on that later. but it is not really about joe biden or trump, it is about whatever is standing in the way of a progressive takeover of america. last night, the left suffered a massive car wreck. they will get another car, but they have to figure out what to do with the driver. in 90 minutes, their eight year dream of open borders, dei deficit spending was shattered.

but biden was not the only loser last night, it was the media who have been lying and hiding him. and the administrative state who inserted biden into the white house four years ago, thanks to covid and hoaxes, and today are watching aghast, their puppet collapse. as donald trump ricochets back into the oval office promising to close borders and wars and seek revenge. and by revenge, of course,, we mean success. the only option biden has left his prison. >> he's got more trials coming up! [ chanting ] lock him up! lock him up! >> jesse: do you hear that? there is still time to lock him up. the judge sentences the former president on july 11th. and apparently, biden's crowd, did they even see the debate? [ chanting ] four more years! four more years!

[ chanting ] >> jesse: four more years? biden can't make it four more months. will dr jill keep the nuclear football in a purse? and our enemies know that trump is coming back by january 2025 so they will be making moves. it could get pretty dangerous. it already is. north dakota governor, the former 2024 presidential candidate is on the shortlist for vp. doug, what happened last night to joe biden? >> well jesse, what you and i know and have known and all of your viewers have known, what america didn't know, which is about the cover-up you are talking about and joe biden's inability to ask yourself who was running the country the last eight days. yet ask yourself was running the country today. and at the very end when you brought up the adversaries, the people watching this debate most

closely were china, russia, iran, venezuela, our adversaries. and the world became a more dangerous place last night. joe biden is a walking national security risk for our country. 's weaknesses invited wars. president trumps strength, you see it on the debate stage last night. when he was in office, president trump himself is a deterrent to aggression against our allies. so it is very concerning on the world stage to see what happened last night. >> jesse: do we even need to wait for the election or is it time for the 25th amendment? >> i think there will be plenty of people in the cabinet that have to make that discussion. but there is a bigger thing that happened and it was a bad debate performance. as you alluded to, this was really the ruling government coalition that was negotiated during the 2020 election. when you had elizabeth warren, bernie sanders, all of these people get together. the obama's and the clintons say look, we will take joe biden who is in fifth place and make him

the candidate. everyone else has to fall in line. kamala harris will be the vice president, they created a deal and put it in place and they thought that they could basically pass one off on the american people and get joe elected this fall and let kamala harris be the new person that this ruling coalition holds up as president. but now as they said, the king has no clothes. and everybody has been exposed. they were in freefall for a panic today to figure how you put this ruling coalition back. but on the flipside the republican party has never been more united, they are about working people, people that have paychecks and this coalition that they had was a coalition of the elite. elite universities, elite politicians, elite union leaders. elite academics, it is elite everything and they are losing touch with the working people because joe biden had no answer on inflation pack no answer on the border, these are the issues affecting every american every day. >> jesse: and the coalition has completely collapsed.

even reporters at the white house. many of the people you just saw have spent time with the president personally. just a few months ago, they wrote this. as anyone who has recently spent time with biden, and i have can tell you, use in full possession of his faculties, completely lucid and with excellent grasp of detail. but this very morning, he wrote this. given where we are, i must very reluctantly join the chorus asking biden to voluntarily step aside. with emphasis on the voluntary aspect. he said it, he is just joining the chorus and that is what the media does. they just do with the rest of the media does until they need to pivot to save their hide. biden's debate was such a problem that it is causing issues in his marriage. >> everybody calmed down and i will tell you why. it is fine to not spin what happened last night and we are not going to.

it was a terrible night. >> everyone is calling it here, you're the only one raising your voice. everyone is calm here. >> again, is the -- let's just immediately pulled this, lets and this, let's find someone else. >> that's not what mike said. no one is panicking. i said these were questions that democrats and joe biden needed to ask themselves and mike said he missed one pitch down the middle after another and was not up to it last night. >> right, okay. wasn't up to it last night. >> he said last night. >> jesse: joe lied to your face and there only accept -- upset because they got caught. they nuked the audience's trust on russia, open the laptop and they put the democratic party in an impossible decision. late in an election year needing to decapitate the top of the ticket? can't say we didn't warn you. if the media was honest, it never would have gotten this far. on ohio senator who is on the vp

shortlist joins us now. so suddenly there is a surprise that joe biden does not have what it takes. are you buying that, senator? >> no, not at all, jesse. you really hit the nail on the head, this is a massive scandal. for years now, the media has lied to the american people about what is obvious and has been obvious for a long time. and now they are trying to pivot because they realized that joe biden had such a disastrous performance that he is now a massive political problem, not just for himself but for democratic senators, democratic house candidates and they want to toss this guy overboard because now the american people see what has been obvious to conservatives and republicans and close watchers of joe biden for a long time. i think it is also important, jesse, to point out the contrast really matters here. it is not just that joe biden had a disastrous debate performance, it is that donald trump did extremely well. he was in command of the facts, he was funny, he was joking about his golf game. he showed some compassion to people who had lost relatives

and loved ones to the biden migrant crime crisis. and you take all of that together and compare the two, and it is just very hard to conclude that swing voters will not be heavily swayed in trump's direction. last night was a disaster, both because biden was so bad for the biden campaign but also because trump was so good and that contrast i think will really drive debate coverage and how swing voters see the selection and the next few weeks. >> jesse: the former president is not even getting the credit he deserves because biden was so bad but he was disciplined, he created great contrast on illegal immigration and the economy. and it was funny and not the genocidal dictator that if the media had portrayed him as and that is probably what hurts them even more. >> ask act that is exactly right, jesse. he really had a masterful performance year. and the comparison to biden just illustrates how big of a

difference we have. we have to remember here, the biggest problem here is not that joe biden had a disastrous debate performance, it is that he has been a disastrous president. and the real contrast that matters was not just last night, but that trump's presidency was successful, biden's has been a disaster. the american people get an opportunity to correct this in november and i think we have to do everything we can to encourage them to make that correction that the country really needs. i think we need to reelect donald trump. >> jesse: you are right. it was not just one bad night, it has been one bad term and i think that was exploited very well by the former president last night and i'm sure the poles will be even more impressive over the weeks to come. thank you so much, senator. >> thank you jesse. >> jesse: who was on deck to replace joe biden? and what will trump do about it? we have the inside story next. and the universal reaction was somewhere approaching panic. >> senators, governors, congresspeople. the biggest bundlers and donors, they were in conversations about what we do now. >> some of the conversations include if we should go to the white house and ask the president to step aside. >> jesse: the anonymous quotes from democrats were tragic. we are screwed. >> i am in a state of shock, i picked the wrong day to stop sniffing glue. and the new york times editorial board with this, just breaking, to serve his country, president biden should leave the race. biden is drowning. and his aides are reportedly polishing resumes. the president had an all hands on deck meeting with his entire campaign today trying to hold it together. at 81, let's be real, you are a little stubborn. and when you were the president of the free world, even more so. this is a guy who never changes his position even when dead wrong, look at the border, look

at afghanistan. the man wanted to be president his whole life. you think he is going to quit now? bill clinton and barack obama let biden twist in the wind all day until the late afternoon. finally sending out statements saying they still support him. michelle obama reportedly refusing to campaign with joe biden because of the way the biden family treated hunters ex-wife. and msnbc says michelle is the only one who can replace joe. >> the question becomes if there's a democrat out there who has national stature, known by almost everybody and is popular to significantly more popular than biden and harris. someone who can step in, the party can unite around and maybe avoiding messy convention. we are trying to think of a name here and the only one that came up was absolutely zero indications he would be interested. this is just to give you an idea. michelle obama, the former first lady. >> jesse: michelle does not want it, life is too good. and kamala harris is peeved she

has not been asked to tap in. avenue some does not want to be the sacrificial lamb, you would rather weight until 28, i get it and neither of those two pulled better than biden. so joe may just be in it to lose it. michael is the former press secretary to first lady jill biden. michael, what happened last night? >> it was a bad night, that's what happened last night. you and i talked about what he needed to do. and i was very specific that it was not really a focus on policy or memorizing stats, all he needed to do was show strength, show that he was agile, show that he could counterpunch. show that he could contextualize where we were when he inherited the white house and where we are now. he was not able to do any of those things. look, i was a competitive swimmer for 17 years and i had one job and it was to touch the wall first. and if i didn't, i lost. last night my team lost.

we lost the debate. >> jesse: i got it. and you probably had the best preanalysis of anybody. maybe you should have been prepping him over at camp david, you could have been the 17th camp counselor over there. what are people saying, michael? inside the inner circle, inside democrat circles? >> no chance. no chance of replacing the president. i would never expect him to be replaced, that is not how parties work. the republican party rallied around mr trump after his convictions. it's the same thing here. the party will not leave the leader of the party. it rarely ever happens, it will not happen this time. so it's kind of like a buckle up feeling. there is really nobody who has said anything publicly, any elected officials that would like to see him replaced. and even if they did, they would be the minority.
