It's 100% possible.

You don't need to block them in pairs... People get reps that don't know how to do it properly. Then spread incorrect t information. Just call them or chat until you get a rep that can indeed do it.

I have outgoing text blocked, but incoming text allowed(for verification texts)

I was also able to have them do this. I tested it by calling and then texting. Only the text got through.

FWIW I installed the update on Android and was able to use the app without the need for any verification. I was also able to login to see billing info without any need to also do SMS verification.

Chatted with a CSR, and they were trying to sell SMS verification as the best thing since sliced bread, and I should re enable SMS. Never mind that I got bombarded with SMS spam, which was why I disabled the thing.

I think you can use the fido online text system? I used that before and was able to receive and send text messages before I switched to Rogers

It is july 4th. my friend tried getting one but it was discontinued.
In the system but cannot add it through customer service

Android. At the time I was using a phone that does not have a SIM card, so SMS verification is a big problem.

that's what i got, incoming texts only, but i was skeptical, because i read several messages, people saying it had to be disable in pair

Varies by province. Think it's still available in Quebec but not Ontario.

September: I was able to block outgoing msg/call and incoming call
December: I was able to block outgoing msg/call and incoming call
March: rep told that I can only block incoming(msg/call) and/or outgoing(msg/call) together
