An Honest Review of Garth Brooks' New Nashville Bar (2024)

If you're a fan of country music, there is no place quite like Nashville, Tennessee.

One of the biggest names in the country music game, Garth Brooks, just opened up his very own bar.

Friends In Low Places: Bar & Honky Tonkheld its grand opening on March 7th, 2024. Located at 411 Broadway in Nashville, right in the heart of "Nashvegas" this establishment is the newest addition to the Broadway night scene.

At first, reviews weren't too great for Friends In Low Places: Bar & Honky Tonk.

I was surprised by some of these less than stellar comments from people, so I decided that when I headed out to Nashville, Tennessee I'd take a look for myself.

In my opinion, all of those haters are so wrong.

First Glance

KM

The Friends In Low Places sign definitely fits right in with the rest of the bright neon signs on Broadway. When you first walk in, you see a giant statue of Garth Brooks himself.

This is a great spot to take some fun photos with friends to show off that you're partying in Nashville and they're not!

My friends and I had to stop for a quick selfie with Garth.

The Music & Overall Vibes

The first floor of Garth's bar is perfect for live music. Right in the front of the room is a huge stage that takes up a good chunk of the room.

If you've ever been to Nashville andwere able to check out some of the other bars on Broadway, this part of the establishment might remind you of Blake Shelton's Ole Red or even the now closed Wildhorse Saloon.

KM

Just a heads up...

If you were coming to this spot for a cheap drink you won't necessarily find it here.

My friend paid about twelve dollars for a vodka cranberry. In Iowa, that seems like a lot, but on Broadway that's a steal! I went to some places that evening and paid about eighteen bucks for a drink.

Drinkin' ain't cheap in Nashville!

Across the room are palm trees all lit up and the words "Blame It All on My Roots, I Showed Up In Boots" across the balcony for the second floor.

This stage was the perfect spot for live music. Some of the criticisms for FILP involved the music selection.

KM

Right on the first floor, the main stage, had a killer band! They were energetic, talented, and fun to watch. Their sound was classic Nashville Broadway vibes. Of course they performed hit country tunes, but they threw in a few different songs from other genres as well.

Overall, not a bad band at all.

The Oasis

KM

Now...let's slip on down to the oasis...

Or rather UP to the Oasis.

Garth knew exactly what he was doing when he called his rooftop, beach bar the Oasis. He continues to commit to the theme up here, which I appreciated!

KM

This rooftop bar was a different vibe from the main stage floor. Like most of these artist establishments in Nashville, the first floor had a live band, and the rooftop bar featured a DJ.

The music choice was solid on this floor. It was a mix of country and some more classic club tracks.

A solid mix.

KM

The Oasis was exactly how you’d imagine it to be. There were palm trees spread all throughout this floor of the bar. Along with other little touches that completed this tropical vibe.

The views from this spot were incredible!

The rooftop bar included an awesome view of the iconic AT&T building, otherwise known as the Batman building.

To top this top floor off, as soon as you left the interior section of the oasis and went outside, the area was heated by panels.

KM

It was a unique and different touch that I didn’t notice in any of the other spots I stopped in on my recent visit.

On days that are kind of iffy in Tennessee, this heated section makes the whole experience that much more enjoyable.

Overall Thoughts

KM

I ended my Thursday night here at Friends In Low Places and it was one of the highlights of my day on the town. The music was great, the energy was electric, and most importantly I felt safe.

There's a police substation located right next to this place, so it felt a bit more secure to me. As a lady out on Broadway, I felt incredibly protected inside of this bar.

25 Country Songs About the Rural Working Class

West Virginia-based singer-songwriter Oliver Anthony shot to fame overnight after his viral song, "Rich Men North of Richmond," went viral. But Anthony's not the first country-leaning performer to sing about the injustices levied against the rural working class: On the contrary, that subject matter is a staple of the genre, with everyone from Merle Haggard to Luke Combs putting out songs on the subject.
