Aim of the call:
The Maimonides Biomedical Research Institute of Cordoba (IMIBIC) is looking for candidates interested in applying for postdoctoral position at our centre.
ARISTOS is a strategic programme in Biomedicine and Health Sciences led by CIBER in Spain and offering three-year duration postdoctoral positions. The aim of ARISTOS is to offer international, intersectoral and interdisciplinary research opportunities to highly qualified postdoctoral researchers, through a competitive selection process.
ARISTOS offers excellent working conditions to the candidates, in line with The European Charter & Code for Researcher and the Spanish labour legislation.
The candidates selected for the ARISTOS programme will carry out a research project within a CIBER research group in an area of their interest, and they will receive training to improve their career prospects, like training in research, in specific techniques, in transferable skills and access to scientific and clinical international networks. The programme also promotes the transfer of knowledge and mobility between the public and private sectors.

Job description:
The professional profile sought is a postdoctoral researcher with initiative and leadership skills. The candidate selected within the programme will join the IMIBIC research group GC03 Infectious diseases https://www.imibic.org/grupo/40, working in the research line “Immunologic monitoring of infection by cytomegalovirus and other viruses in immunocompromised individuals”. The objective is to improve our understanding, treatment and prevention of infectious diseases by studying the pathogens and the host’s immune response.
The criteria to be considered an experienced researcher with a recognised International track record are: to be among the top 10% researchers in their area of specialisation at global level, to be PI of an active project funded by the ERC, to be at the top level of the academic/research career in their country of origin, or the have been PI of a significant number of research projects funded in national or International competitive calls, having produced high-relevance and impact contributions during his/her career in their areas of specialisation.
Requisites of the call:
Due to the highly competitive nature of the call, it is essential that the candidates fulfil all the following admissibility criteria:
- Research experience: The researcher must be in possession of a doctoral degree or have successfully defended their doctoral thesis before call deadline.
- Mobility rule: The researcher cannot have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Spain for more than 12 months in the 36 months immediately prior to the call deadline. Exceptions to the mobility rule are only possible in dully justified cases (long-term illness, for example).
- Publication record: The researcher should have at least three publications in international peer-reviewed journals by the call deadline.
- Secondments: The candidates should include activities that entails intersectoral and interdisciplinary mobility. This can be achieved by including a secondment at a company interested in the research project carried out by the researcher.
Publications, participation in congresses and similar achievements will be taken into account during the evaluation of applications.
Candidates are requested to detail both the tasks performed and the number of months of their professional experience. CVs no including detailed and clear information of their experience in months or any other assessment criteria will not be taken into consideration.
Selection Process
The selection process will include the analysis and evaluation of the candidates, ranked according to the experience and CV match to the Job description. After the first analysis and ranking, it will be possible to invite candidates for a personal interview to assess the their communication skills, aptitude for the job, and other skills.
