Nature & Parks
State park with a waterfall, hiking trails & a variety of lodging, from campsites to modern cabins.
Absolutely gorgeous and The pictures do no justice! We walked the 604 steps to the top of the water fall and it was worth every step! Gorgeous scenery in every direction and as far as the eye can see. If you're unable to climb the stairs to the top, you have the option to drive up and walk over to enjoy the views at the top of the waterfall. Headed to the zip lining adventures afterwards and it was just as phenomenal! I'd definitely return and experience it all again. If you're unable to climb the stairs to the top, you have the option to drive and enjoy the views of the top of the waterfall too.

Absolutely breathtaking and stunningly beautiful. Every step of the 600-plus journey down and back up is worth it. The waterfall feels endless, with each cascading section offering its own unique beauty. An experience you won’t want to miss!

Was such a beautiful park!We were with our 4-H group and did axe throwing as well. WT was awesome with our group! He never rushed us, gave great directions, and made sure everyone got an axe on the board! Was a beautiful walk to the falls.Definitely recommend coming for the day with your family or group!

Such a beautiful falls. The weather was great. The main falls was closed because a tree fell, so only the lower falls was open. It was an easy hike, didn't have to climb the stairs. I love that it had the rubber path to the falls which made it easier on your feet

Great place for hikers and non-hikers alike. Plenty of variety of hiking as well as just site seeing and other activities. Axe throwing, zip lining are just two of the other activities that I have had a great time at this jewel of a state park. Hiking to the Len Foote Inn can be a one day challenge, or a great overnight stay. The staff at the brand new park HQ are helpful and knowledgeable if you have any questions about where to go and what is available to do. Starting your AT hike here is good way to get some last minute taste of civilization before starting north. Definitely a must see when visiting Georgia.

good place to enjoy nature. Don't forget to wear comfortable shoes and take water with you. very beautiful forest. The fall is small but beautiful. To take good photos, it’s better to go up to the observation deck from below. you can sit on the veranda of the cafe and enjoy the beautiful view. You can also come and stay overnight in a tent. For convenience, there are benches everywhere and tables where you can sit and have a snack.

Awesome hike and falls. There is a fairly steep hiking trail that I would suggest you take to the top...it beats the alternative of walking up 604 steps going the other way. Coming down the steps after hiking to the top makes much more sense. However, if you skipped leg day at the gym, you might want to go up and down on the steps! The falls are beautiful, but the amount of people around makes it a little hard to enjoy your surroundings.
Faith ( — Google review
Well appointed visitor's center at the base of the falls. No shuttle service from either the top or bottom of the falls, so plan accordingly. Spring through fall is awesome; wet your feet in the creek or sit in one of the refreshing pools. Spring time has a load of beautiful flora and mountain flowers to smell and photograph (touch with your eyes), along with a host of mountain forest critters, trout and wildlife. Fall has the changing leaves and the beauty of hiking. And tent a cabin in the winter. But please, please, please take your trash with you. Enjoy.

I had never really visited North Georgia and wanted to see this area. I picked this park because I had seen it in videos about the Appalachian Trail. It was way beyond my expectation. The waterfall is amazing, the highest waterfall in Georgia. The lodge is beautiful, sitting on top of the mountain with a panoramic view of the southern Appalachians. Miles of beautiful hiking trails and forest. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Beautiful day for a hike!! We went on a Friday around 1 pm. Very well maintained. The Visitor’s Center appears to be very new and staff is very knowledgeable about the trails, falls and other aspects about the park. Restrooms were clean and well-maintained. There are a number of conveniently located picnic areas. The hike along the falls is beautiful, with lookout points at good spots for those who need to take a breath or do a photo op. There are a combination of wooden and metal stairs.Parts of the trail are more level than others, and it gets steeper as you go up.There are parts of the trail that are paved. We love this state park!! Keep our parks beautiful! 😊🌲

Falls are amazing. Split your group and the athletic ones park the car at the reflection pond hike the concrete path and stairs up the falls and the rest start at the upper falls and walk down which is so much easier to do and finish the full falls. It's so amazing. Stay at the lodge which on the back deck you can perfectly watch the west sun set. We had dinner at the lodge, burgers and ribeye, which were delicious and had great service. Was not busy on a Tuesday. Nice fireplace to sit at in the evening to watch the final sunset go down. Certainly a hidden gem!

Beautiful state park and incredibly well thought out. It's very handicap accessible. I loved that they had trails made for wheelchairs and walkers so you could go see the falls as well. It was a very easy hike in to the falls from the handicap parking lot. Not even 10 minutes. The staff was delightful and so very helpful right from the time you come through the gate. Definitely recommend for family fun and for getting immersed in nature.

Really nice state park! We really enjoyed the park and the trails. The park is very nice and has a very nice visiting center when you first come in. There's a whole play area for kids as well. Then once you hit the trails there's tons of scenic views as you're walking up the side of the fall. When you get to the lookout of the falls it's gorgeous. You can continue up every higher but the first part you go up 175 stairs and the second part says it's over 400 stairs so we didn't continue but if you're a big hiker there's plenty more hiking to do it's only the start of the Appalachian trails.

BEAUTIFUL!!Fell in love with this place. The falls pictures do not do justice to the actual view. The walk is great, there are 400+ steps to go up which was difficult but I did with my toddlers.Kids friendly place, anybody can visit. Plenty of parking in different places, restrooms were clean and playground was clean too.Kids have a playground to play in, there are a lot of benches to sit and watch them. You can do barbecue as well. This place is great for one day trip and picnic.I would go here again, drive is g bad either. Nature always is the best and at it’s best!

Beautiful State Park with a gorgeous waterfall and a number of beautiful hiking trails. We took the stairs up and the East Ridge Trail down, stopping in between on the Lodge patio for a drink. We had planned to carry our pup up the stairs but it turned out that she managed them quite well, and she certainly loved the trail going back down. We came on a Friday morning in November, and it was not very busy.

A nice well maintained must visit state park in Georgia. Awesome view of the falls with the mountains and woods. The water is cold most of the time. The round up trail is bit difficult with the stairs but worth experiencing it.Got many picnic areas and tables. They are clean and well maintained too.

Spectacular views of the falls. Beautiful nature center. Access to Appalachian Trail Head. Parking is available at the top, bottom, and middle of falls. Be aware that parking at the middle of the falls is limited but also wheelchairchair accessible There are hundreds of steel steps up and down the side of the falls.
Rebecca M — Google review
Very beautiful waterfall with many different level hikes to view it. If you don’t want to hike at all, they have an option to park at the bottom and the top. We took the longest hike we could find and it was 2.7 miles round trip going different ways. There is a paved path and many many steps if you’d like something a little more controlled. $5 to drive in
Tyler C — Google review
There is a visitors center/gift shop at the beginning where you purchase a parking pass. It also has information about the Appalachian Trail inside.Somehow, we parked in a smaller parking lot. That took us straight to the falls, but I guess there is another parking area where you hike and then walk up 125 stairs to the falls. To get to the top of the falls, you can drive and there is another parking lot, or you can walk up 425 very steep steps. The view is worth it.
Sarh M — Google review
Great little waterfall it's not that much water is going down, but it's high. We took a nice walk to see it and hiked back. We had a good time. Lots of walking
Igor S — Google review
The falls are beautiful! They're easily accessible at the top at about the middle of the falls by very clean, well-kept paths. We rented 2 cabins near the top of the falls during our stay, and both cabins were extremely dirty and full of ants and spiders. Floors were absolutely filthy, but linens appeared clean and the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast at the lodge was pretty good, but dinner was terrible, and their adult beverages were just awful. The staff was amazing and friendly. We also rented a pavilion there for an event and it was completely filthy. The kitchen was disgusting, and there was a closet full of molded rags that reeked like dead animals. The air conditioning in the enclosed pavilion did not respond to the remotes provided, and there were no buttons to adjust on the units so we were burning up the whole time we were there. Despite all of that, we had a phenomenal time, and we would love to go back. We had a great time hiking the trails, playing in the water, looking at the reflecting pool and rock hunting. If you go, just take your own cleaning supplies, cook your own food in your cabins, and enjoy the nature around you.

The namesake Amicalola Falls is simply stunning. Cascading down a long distance, the power and beauty of the water are awe-inspiring. Whether you view it from the observation deck or take the challenging hike down (and back up!), the experience is unforgettable.Beyond the falls, the park itself boasts stunning mountain views and lush forests. It's a true escape into nature, perfect for a refreshing break or a weekend getaway.
Mark C — Google review
Such a beautiful park!! Took a day trip here from Atlanta with family. The trails are well kept. The waterfall is breath taking. There are different areas via driving/parking to access the waterfall as it can be tiring with all of the steps if starting from the base. They have lodging and camp sites. We went zip-lining and had a blast!! The tour guides were fun.
Yvette T — Google review
We really enjoyed our time here! It was fairly crowded and parking was difficult! Having some health stuff it would have been helpful to know parking close to the reflection pool is the least amount of walking/stairs to be able to still see all the falls. There is handicap access in the middle of the falls…it’s a bit of a jaunt but not bad! This was well worth the stop!

Absolutely gorgeous state park with fantastic campsites and opportunities for outdoor activities for families. The full hookup sites with Wifi were large and our site backed up right on the creek. The play areas are up kept for children and the trails are well maintained. Beautiful lake and waterfall. The new visitor center was being worked on when we went, so there's a bit of construction at the entrance, but it didn't take away from our experience. Roads are steep and narrow to get there, but we made it ok with a 33foot trailer and and diesel exhaust brakes with the truck. Friendly park staff. Highly recommend!

Visited Vogel State Park in November 2024 and stayed in site 67. As you most already know, all of the campgrounds facilities were renovated in 2022 and 2023 to include the sites, electrical and water. What a great job, our site was level, clean and working perfectly. The new gravel was freshly raked and the fire pit clean of all use. There is currently construction at the entrance next to the visitors center. A new facility is being built lakeside and from the looks of it now, it will be a wonderful addition to an already beautiful park. If you haven't already, add this one to your must see list.

Was a great time here. The park was great for a family. We were visiting with our two year old and The playground and the trails around the lake were perfect for him. He really enjoyed spending time on the pavilion and looking over the lake. Would definitely recommend it for a quick stop.

We stayed here for the first time after my wife and I came here for a stroll on their trails on our last vacation. It's a beautiful place and a perfect spot for a couples getaway or for a family vacation. We stayed at one of their cabins. The cabin was fine but nothing extravagant but that was a part of the allure for us. It's very close to Brass town bald, Helen, a few waterfalls and some great sights which I included in my pictures. Each of these places were no more than 20 minutes away. Their are some cabins that are wheel chair accessible. I went fishing, took the kids to the beach at the lake, there are kayak rentals, paddle boats and the lake has a beautiful waterfall at the end of the park and is worth checking out. We will deffinetly come back!

We came up here for a camping weekend trip and it was so fun! Lots of plots for tents and campers alike and they have nice clean restrooms (each stall is a family size with a changing table, toilet, sink, mirror, and shower with handicap seating available) throughout. We chose a spot with electric and water access and it worked perfectly. Lots of easy trails, a waterfall lookout, a cute history of the area museum and a visitors center with camping supplies available. There is a $5 fee for parking your car in the parking areas just fyi. It’s also very dog friendly. We will definitely keep coming back here every year as a family.

Probably one of the nicest state parks I've been to. Great views, great sounds, and great hiking.Originally came to tent camp and switch to a cabin instead. Little expensive in my opinion but was really surprised how nice the cabins are.Only gripe I have is the staff ride around on a loud golf cart around 0700-0730. I assume they are checking on things. I find that a little insensitive to people sleeping. Suggestion: use an electric golf cart that's quiet.Other than that the place is great and a nice break from hustle and bustle. Will return.

Pioneer Wilderness area campsites were quiet, maintained, and a bit rugged. A good ⅓ mile hike up to the area with a pavilion and a fire pit. Outhouses were close by. Bring everything up on the first trip...

What a well-maintained state park. The grounds are clean and organized. Visitors can enjoy numerous amenities, such as the theater, pool and picnic areas, cute cottages, RV park, bonfires, trails, waterfalls, convenience store, and more.Hubby and I plan to spend a weekend when the weather warms up. We enjoy taking the scenic route through the Blue Ridge mountains. Now it's time to stay a while.

It's an amazing state park in Georgia with a $5 entrance fee per vehicle. Parking near the information center is limited due to ongoing construction, but there's ample parking near the beach and lake lookout deck. Don't forget to get the park information map from the welcome center. The park offers numerous shelters, picnic areas, and restrooms. The lake and waterfall trails are great for walking, and there are swing chairs around the lake to rest and enjoy the scenery. The lake beach is another excellent spot to enjoy. The park also features a group event hall. You can reserve shelters, halls, and cabins through their website.

A scenic gem with hiking trails, cottages, and tent camping, a lake that offers kayaking, fishing, and other water activities in the warmer seasons. There was some construction during my visit, so I look forward to returning to see what improvements have been made. The park is dog friendly and has many trails in which to explore.

We walked along Bear Hair GapTrail and we saw a mama bear with her cubs in the other side of the little river. Highly recommend bear spray just in case. We only did about 1.8 miles of the 4 mile hike since it was my son’s first time hiking. It was peaceful listening to the water.Afterwards, we went to the “beach” (lake) in the park. Water was cold but refreshing. Beautiful park. I would come back to hiking the trails here.

Amazing experience except for the construction which is why I'm only leaving a 4 star review. The camp sites are very well kept and if you do what we did and get the walk in campsites they offer a good bit of privacy. The walk is equivalent to walking up a driveway so don't be dissuaded by the term. A few really good trails lead out from this park. My husband and I loved that and eventually were able to connect with the AT up to Blood Mountain! Food is required to be kept in your car due to bears. I recommend bringing a good sterlite container and keeping all your food in it so when you go to the car you can just grab your container :)!

Very beautiful park. They are doing some construction at the moment but it didn’t interfere with our stay. I love that they have tank empty at the campsite. My favorite ranger was Tom at the visitation center - he was very helpful friendly and funny.

Beautiful and peaceful lake with a nice trail around it. There's a dock and a nice area cordoned off for swimming. There's also clean bathrooms and campsites there. There is a waterfall right beside it. It's pretty, but there's not much of a trail by it. Luckily the waterfall is right off the road across from the lake making it easy to at least see it.

A beautiful campground!! Our 3 kids ages 5-9 loved swimming in the clean lake, riding bikes around campground, and playing in the beautiful creeks. Great place for a 2 night stay. Restrooms are clean and water is hot.We completed Bear Hair Trail.. a 4 mile hike and a challenge for the kids, but definitely worth the view of the lake below.

I took the hike from Bear Hair to Blood mountain. The trails were covered with leaves in October and it makes seeing the trails difficult. I highly recommend: water pack, hiking shoes, a snack, and hiking sticks. Be prepared for some elevation: about 2000 ish ft. Expect poor trail markings. I did not think it was well marked, although I am not very good at directional awareness (I’m not getting A+ I’m not gonna fail either). But the trails could be better marked. Personally I got lost, ended up on Mile marker 9 and hitched a ride back with some nice older firemen after multiple people passed me and my dog walking back to the park. The 2.5 miles on the highway was a shorter route than backtracking and potentially getting lost. It is a beautiful summit view, and I did feel like it was worth it once I finally got there, although it did seem longer than what it was advertised. It took me about 4.4 miles to finally summit. The park is currently under construction, I’m not sure what they are building, but the signs are not great for parking. The signs for the trail or not well marked. It seems like a popular state park and there was a lot of traffic going faster than the 15 mph. Has a beautiful Lake view, and I saw that there can be kayaking and activity during the summertime.Entrance: $5 / vehicle CASH onlyDogs: allowed on leash

With an elevation of 2,500 feet, this park offers stunning views, especially in autumn when the trees are ablaze with vibrant colors. It’s a perfect spot for outdoor hiking, a serene lake for fishing, and even a sandy beach to unwind.

You can enjoy the lake view from the picnic area. There is also a restaurant where you can book your table and do events like birthday parties. You can easily hike around the mountains and also enjoy the view of the fountain. There is also a visitor center where you can get information. Parking is free in the off season. You can drive to the park.

There was some major construction being done on the park at the time of my visit, but it didn’t inhibit my experience! This park is amazing. I highly recommend walking around the lake and down to the waterfall. The scenery is amazing and the waterfall is impressive for such a short hike.

Small park with a great swimming area and trails to hike. Nice campground too! Relaxing during the week to just sit in silence and enjoy the mountain views. Construction for the new visit center is limiting the parking available, so go early!

So beautiful. So big! The waterfall is amazing. Even the highway over the mountain is lovely, but make sure your brakes are good and you have gas. They are working on a visitors center that is amazing. It's WAY off the road, in the woods, on a lake, with a bumper car ride! It also has a small beach area on the lake. You could spend a whole afternoon there. At the top of the mountain is Neel Gap. It is an old stone lodge with amazing views, hiking trails,a resident cat, and a great shop with lots of quality items. The shop prices are pretty high, but they are off good quality. This drive and lodge is a great idea for a date with your partner on a day trip. Or for a day out with the kids to the up and coming visitors center. And of course, for a long motorcycle ride.

Beautiful mountain top. Amazing views. Was on top of this mountain on the night of July 4th,so go to watch Helen fireworks festival from here. They look so tiny yet beautiful from here.Great place for star gazing if you are lucky that day. Even other wise, it's worth a night visit any day. Even in summer it was cool that night and even day time. So great place to spend summers here. Wish they had couple more picnic tables on top. Only one exists so far.

Entrance fee is $8/pp—I don’t know why some people say $5. Cards accepted. The highest point of GA with nice views from the top.The road leading up there is beautiful. We went on a Saturday afternoon and the line of cars was insane—we waited for at least an hour to get in. Honestly it would’ve been better to just turn back, like many others did. However, this is not a proper hiking trail. It’s only 0.6 miles and paved all the way true. Artificial IMO. There is a shuttle as well which can take people up to the top if they don’t want to walk, which makes it even more crowded. I guess this service is what drives up the entry fee so much. There’s a small theater with a short movie about Brasstown Bald.Staff at the visitor center are nice however the selection of food items is a joke. There’s literally nothing to eat, apart from Hershey chocolate and ice cream. No trail mix, energy bars, jerky, anything that would be even remotely nourishing.Won’t be back—there are so many other trails/hikes that are so much better and cheaper and that offer gorgeous views.
Alexandra D — Google review
Paved but steep trail with the option of taking a shuttle during park hours. A quick walk but you will get a good workout. Great view. You are above the clouds. But if it’s a cloudy day be aware you may be IN the clouds. And visibility will be zero.

Amazing view from top of the mountain. I went to there to experience sunrise . First you pay $5 fee at the gate by money in yellow envelope. Then you hike up there . It was not hard. It may be hard for some people. They have shuttle service in normal business hours. There is a nice museum showing about history of Georgia.
H O — Google review
Let me preface this by saying the views are 5/5 and probably worth the drive depending on your patience level and whether or not you drank/ate too much before making the drive up to Brasstown Bald.Like me, you will probably be confused why your GPS tells you that it's a 1 1/2 hour drive to go 40 miles, but the roads going into this place are pretty crazy. Lots of switch back turns and steep grade, not a drive for the faint of heart. There are also a lot of other parks in the area like Desoto Falls and Vogel State Park, so the traffic through here, especially in the Fall, is nuts. Recently there has also been this "Instagram Crowd" that stop on the shoulder, try to get posed shots of themselves in the middle of the road, and all kinds of other craziness with the crowds, so allow yourself plenty of time to get there. We saw 4 young women today nearly get hit by a tour bus because they were trying to take a posed shot of them across the road with the mountains in the background.Once you actually get to the park area, your real battle begins. Expect anywhere from 1-3 hours to drive the 2 miles up the mountain to the parking area and then possibly another hour+ wait to get on the shuttle if you want to go to the top. We are talking hard idling on steep incline in most places, so this can be brutal if you have a motorcycle, have a car on the verge of breaking down, or a weak 4 cylinder engine that doesn't handle mountain driving well. If you don't want to wait for the shuttle and you can handle a decent incline, you can take a 0.7 mile trail up to the top after you reach the parking lot. It's pretty short, but if you are out of shape it will get the heart rate up. It's probably a 1.5 mile round trip if you include the distance from your parking spot to the trailhead behind the gift shop. We went today and it was 2+ hours to go the 2 miles up to the parking lot. Several people turned around and went back. I feel like this is a detail many miss out on so people aren't expecting a huge wait once they get there, but it's a reality.Crowds have been an issue each visit and the restroom facilities(located at the parking area and also up at the main tower) are always overcrowded and filthy with long lines. Employees in the gift shop are a little slow with customer service, you can certainly tell this is a government job post where they are just going through the motions to get their pension/retirement benefits. The gift shop is pretty sparse and doesn't offer much outside your standard overpriced t-shirts. When you reach the summit, they have a fairly nice facility with exhibits(though most of them were powered down/broken) about the area and animals that frequent the surrounding forests. The views are about the only thing worth going for if you aren't hitting up the local hiking trails, so you will have to ask yourself if a 2-3+ hour trip is worth about 15-20 minutes of gawking at the incredible mountain views. If it's crowded it can be tough to get decent photos, and the weather can change really quickly. On our visit the sun was out and everything was beautiful, but by the time we actually made it to the parking area the clouds had moved in and the temperature dropped a good 10 degrees. Make sure you have appropriate clothing if you get cold easily. There is a small picnic area in the parking area and access to a few other trails, but the main attraction is the views at the top. The observation tower has been closed almost every time we've been with the excuse of the elevator being broken. I think this place could use some government funds to make a few upgrades to the restrooms and to fix the elevator. There is nowhere to eat, but the gift shop does offer some limited snacks and drinks, mainly slim jims/soda type thing and there aren't really any local restaurants, so bring your own food if you want to snack on anything.Overall great views, but I think once you've been a time or two you don't need to waste your entire day sitting in traffic to get there. I'd also add there are no EV charging facilities anywhere close.

Highest point in GA- elevation is 4,784 feet. 360° view of the surrounding area, including four states(GA, TN, NC, & SC).This is a short trail the elevation is steep going up, the way down is a breeze. They offer a shuttle going up and down for no additional cost aside from your entrance fee. There is a small shop that offers a few shirts, kids souvenirs, badges, magnets, etc. worth stopping in and checking out while you’re there.

They accept America The Beautiful Pass (National Park Pass). So it saves $5 a person. The current entrance fee is $8 a person, but that include the $3 fee for shuttle. With our park pass, we didn't have to pay the $5 a person. And if we want to take the shuttle, we will either pay $3 fee a person at the entrance or at the gift shop to buy the shuttle ride.Great place to visit! They have a huge parking lot with some picnic table and grills. It's a steep-ish but only 0.6 miles short walk to the top.Highly recommend this place!

Wow, absolutely stunning sunrise views can be seen from here.I arrived 30 minutes prior to official sunrise(06:30am), and payment is the honor system at this time as it's not staffed that early. America The Beautiful Pass(National Park Pass) is accepted here for entry so it was "free" for me, I just layed it on my dashboard just in case.It will be dark as this time with no streetlights, so if you've never been before, like me, you'll resort to your phone flashlight which works just fine. There is an asphalt path winding up through the woods to get to the summit, it's in a few of my photos with signs pointing to it, or you could walk the gated off road which is what I did in the dark. It's very steep and is exhausting, be aware of this hike if you plan on seeing the sunrise, the asphalt path is 0.6 miles to the summit, the road will be a little further. When you get to the top, you'll find stairs to go up higher and find a comfortable spot on a bench or standing to watch the sun rise up over the mountains. There were a dozen other people there with me today, August 24 2024, to watch and it was beautiful. The sun rose at 07:00 and I stood watching and taking pictures for probably 30 minutes, and I wanted to stop at the gift shop which is next to the parking lot, but it did not open until 10:00. The restrooms with running water are also locked until employees arrive, which was sometime after 09:00. So if you want to watch the sun rise and use the restroom or visit the giftshop, you'll have to entertain yourself for a few hours until everything opens. I just hiked back to the summit a 2nd time to pass the time. There are 2 shuttle busses that go to the summit. Simply park in the parking lot, and walk over next to the restrooms where the busses are and they will drive you to the summit if you choose not to hike up.

Fantastic Visitor’s Center and observation post on the state of Georgia’s highest point. Highly recommend going on a day with no clouds in the sky so you can see the Atlanta skyline in the long distance as well as North Carolina!

This is Georgia’s highest peak. The 360 degree view from the observation deck is amazing. There is a fees to enter the park. You can hike up from parking to a very steep paved trail. The trees around while hiking give a nice feeling. Fall season is the best time to visit and see colors all around. They have restrooms downstairs. This place is know for star gazing so at special events specific to meteor showers or comet there are people all night

Decided to hike the highest peak in Georgia on a nice April Sunday. Paid the parking fee and headed up the paved trail to the top. It is steep, but easy with the pavement. The views from the top are incredible with a deck that goes in all directions. The rocking chairs were perfect to grab a bite to eat and have a drink before going into the museum about the area history.

The price should be different for those who choose to walk v those who utilize the shuttle. Paying $8 pp to not utilize anything seems steep for the offerings/amount of time one spends there.Check the weather before you go so you don’t end up without a view.Dog friendly (unsure if you can take dogs on the shuttle though).

Breathtaking views, calm and serene.Bathrooms available at the top and by parking$8 parking feeVisiting center is quite informative. Brasstown history small movie is also played in the theater.Hiking trail is fully paved. Highly recommend!Shuttle from parking to the top is frequent.

I left home at 1AM to drive 4 hours here and catch the sunrise. Spur of the moment trip in the middle of the week for no reason other than to try and see something I’d never seen before. And boy did it pay off. After a steep hike in the dark, I made it to the observation deck at the top of the mountain, and could see the lights of distant cities, as well as a deep orange glow. For the rest, I’ll let my pictures do the talking. If you have never been here before, go. If you can catch a sunrise or a sunset, even better. It’s quite an experience, and any time taken to appreciate life a little more is never wasted.

View at the top was breathtaking. Hike was about 1/2 mile but it was difficult due to it being entirely a steep uphill climb. Not too busy either as we went during the week. We brought our dog and she did well but was also pretty tired by the time we got to the top (definitely bring water for your dog). I took off a star because its $8/person to get in which I thought was kind of expensive especially if you come with a family…

Nice paved hiking trail to the top. Or a small bus will take you for a fee. Bathrooms were clean at the bottom visitor center. Beautiful views for miles. Also, pretty elaborate for what it is.

We came, we conquered, and we enjoyed the view. This is my second time coming here, and despite being a year ago (the first time) , this time around, it didn't feel as bad going up and down as it did the first time. It was super cold..for sure, but the beautiful view is worth it.

The highest peak in Georgia! The hike is just 0.6 miles but an exhilarating steep one though. All the same, it is a rewarding view on the top and leaves you spellbound. The view was hazy due to the mist and clouds and cleared off to showcase the wonderful landscapes and mountains to view. We spend a lot of time enjoying nature at its best. They do have a shuttle facility to reach the top in case walking is not preferred. The entry is charged at USD 8 per adult.
Anitha M — Google review
One of the best places to hike and enjoy a panoramic view of sunrise or sunset. 4150 feet up with short hike of 0.6 miles to the visitor center. The view from the top is simply gorgeous. Georgia’s highest peak! Smokey at its best! You get to see all three states (GA, TN and NC) sharing this majestic land. I recommend spending at least a couple hour up there. There is shuttle from entry gate to the visitor center; running till 4:30. Shuttle fee is included within park entry fee! If you are not using the shuttle, you can stay up there as long as you want. The museum up-to is also very cool and informative! So all worth a great funday for all ages!

Beautiful fall there, $8/adult, and kid under 13yrs is free, it has bus to drive us to the top, only need to walk to there stair to see whole area

Amazing view! Staff are not operating on Tuesday or Wednesday but you can still hike up. The elevator doesn't work. 1/2 hike from the parking lot. It was a tough little hike but well worth it. ...Beautiful...

An amazing place to visit in Georgia. The highest peak in Georgia offers some incredibly spectacular views from its top. The trekking to the top from the parking lot is an amazing 3/4 mile journey that surely tests your endurance if you don’t walk a lot regularly. Needless to say a must visit place for all.
Sambit P — Google review
I loved this place! We went at sunrise. This is before hours so you have to do the honor system and put money in the envelope/box at the entrance to the parking lot. After that, we started UP the summit trail. It’s 0.6 miles up the whole way. There are many rest points with benches and the path is wide and paved. It’s a challenge but totally worth it. Going back to the parking lot is all down hill and much easier! The sunrise and views were absolutely amazing!

Rugged mountain top with graffitied rocks & an observation deck providing panoramic views.
Most underrated scenic spot in Georgia, the viewpoint itself is small but the location and the views it offers is just incredible. Would definitely recommend visiting this place if around Tennessee or Georgia or North Carolina. The Hiwasee town with beautiful ponds from the river and majestic mountains all around are beautiful. There was lot of graffiti as well at this spot in an art form and some just random. Also, the roads are pretty steep at some points and would recommend a 4*4 vehicle. There’s lots of cabins as well if you like to stay around and enjoy the night!

The drive up is STEEP—just be aware and take it slow. Once you reach the top, you can park and walk up to the landing area, or if you’re brave enough, you can drive your car up; there’s additional parking too. The view at the top is absolutely worth it—just breathtaking! 🌄✨
Kat V — Google review
Worth a visit! Great views from this vantage point. Too bad people feel compelled to graffiti everything. If you go, know that the road up (Shake Rag Rd) is only one lane for two-way traffic, and extremely steep and curvy. There are periodic pullovers for passing. We do not recommend riding a heavy motorcycle up there!

Beautiful, amazing, unique... Only a few words to describe this place. It is peaceful and beautiful. I had no idea what to expect, but I was not disappointed. While you either have to climb steps (150 up) to the highest overlook or climb rocks to the top for the best view, the view from the parking lot is almost as spectacular. Many people go for the sunset, so if that's what you want to see, get there early for a parking spot because space is limited. There is additional parking, but it is down the mountain and an additional hike up. If you are thinking of going, don't hesitate and make a day of it. You won't regret it!
DJ D — Google review
The view was amazing, but the drive up was terrifying for a couple of people from Florida. LolAlso don't stop at the first place you see that looks like it may be a parking lot, where the sign say to keep driving on footpath at your own risk... keep driving. Lol 😆 we stopped and had to walk uphill more than we would have like to. It's not a hiking path it's a drive. And there is a parking lot right by the steps with the view. Don't be like us.

Must go and see most definitely a scenic place with lots of graffiti. Nice place to take photos and just be dazzled by the lovely wind and Mountain View. The graffiti can be a bit noisy to the eyes, but that’s what special about this peak.
Nihal P — Google review
I didn't expect that!!! What a spectacular view from the top!!You can park and admire or go up about 110 steps to the lookout. Both are incredible. There are about 10-12 parking spots up top which are free. I can believe the mountains have so few homes with views like that over the lake. It's a windy and quite steep way up the hill. You def would want no risk of ice or snow.

Bell Mountain is truly a hidden gem in Georgia! The drive up to the summit is an adventure in itself, with winding roads offering glimpses of the incredible view to come. Once at the top, you're greeted with breathtaking 360-degree panoramic views of the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains and Lake Chatuge. It's a perfect spot for nature lovers, photographers, and anyone looking to soak in some peace and tranquility. The unique graffiti-covered rocks add a modern, artistic twist to the natural beauty, making it a one-of-a-kind experience. There's also a short trail leading to the viewing platform, which is well worth the easy hike. Whether you're watching the sunset or enjoying a clear afternoon, this spot is unforgettable. Highly recommend for a day trip if you're in the area!

This place is a must hike for breathtaking views and fantastic photo opps! The graffiti is super cool!We got to enjoy watching parasailers run right off the edge. I'm going to go ahead and say it, this is not a child friendly place as you'd have to hold their hands constantly and wouldn't be able to let them leave your side as there are no safety walls. There is a nice boardwalk, but be aware this isn't a place for kids to run around freely. There is a VERY steep hike up the hill. While there is a warning sign about driving up, it really is necessary for anyone who might have trouble taking the equivalent of multiple flights of stairs. The incline is truly no joke and is also somewhat unsettling to walk back down.
Holly M — Google review
Amazing views the place is awesome but the graffiti is to much. It's sad people defaced such a beautiful site. The small parking lot is awesome more parking down the hill.
Igor S — Google review
The drive up is on a narrow road. Steep drop left side going up without rail, but ok if you know how to drive. Several take up the whole road driving too fast. Drive all the way to the top, open for parking. Easy walk up stairs to to. Nice 360 view. Bring spray paint to add your name also to rocks.
Jeff — Google review
Beautiful view just a little nail biting getting there. We have a jeep which would have made it all the easy to the top but the last incline made me a little antsy knowing we'd have to come back down. We opted to park and walk the last little bit. It defiantly reminded me how out of shape I am but it was well worth the hike to see the view!!
Tiffany H — Google review
It is a place that you should definitely visit, it has a beautiful view. I was there with my family for the sunset and we enjoyed it a lot. One warning, the road up there is very steep but it is worth it.
Noe I — Google review
Visited for the sunset views, did not disappoint. No fees. Very steep drive up, can drive all the way up. One parking lot lower, leaves you with a 300ft, steep, but paved, walk. No picnic areas or trash cans, no bathrooms. Rocks to sit and enjoy the view. Made for a wonderful family afternoon.
Brooke P — Google review
This place is a really cool lookout spot in the northeastern part of Georgia. Very close to Brasstown Bald as well. The parking lot up at the top of the mountain has limited parking for about 20 or so cars, I could see it filling up on a busy weekend day maybe but every time I’ve been there it’s been mostly empty. Free no fee required just please don’t spray paint help keep it looking somewhat good please!!
Cody K — Google review
You can drive all the way to the top, just be prepared to share a steep single lane road and hope that there is room in the small parking lot. There are wooden steps to observation platforms ~100 steps. The views are outstanding especially at sunset. Be aware that there is graffiti at the top everywhere. We were told that until recently it was limited to the rocks, but now it covers signs and flagpole as well. That was the only detraction.
Chris P — Google review
It’s one place that is definitely under rated. The view from the top is so vast. I highly recommend going to see the sunset. MYou get a view of all of Lake Chatuge, North Carolina and Tennessee to the west.Spectacular it’s a must see!

The drive to Blue Bell mountain was absolutely worth it, the view is breath taking, just beautiful! The drive to the top is a bit tricky since it is very narrow and inclined; no bathrooms once you get there but you can always pass by the gas station right when you are on the main road.

Scenic Railroads
Blue Ridge Scenic Railway is a heritage railroad company that offers a 4-hour, 26-mile round-trip ride as well as themed trips. They have both open-air and closed cars for passengers to choose from. Along the hour-long route up and during the two-hour pit stop on the state line, passengers can enjoy scenic views. The train also offers snacks such as candies, popcorn, hot tea, and hot chocolate in one of its cars.
Oh my goodness! This adventure is an absolute must! The staff was incredible, and Mary Ann, our train attendant, was fantastic—so attentive, kind, and funny. The scenery was breathtaking, and we had such a wonderful time in Cooper-mill, Tennessee! We decided to spoil ourselves and take the premium "car," which I highly recommend. It was totally worth it! You get a delicious snack, free beverages, and a freshly baked cookie at the end. If you're in the mood for an adult beverage, they offer those too, but they aren't included. Overall, a fantastic experience! The photo is of my brother and my brother from another mother!

I did enjoy the train ride. The employees were amazing…the concession stand on board was amazing. Fun experience riding an old time train….the ONLY reason I gave 4 stars was because the website said the views were great etc etc but there weren’t many views other than the Toccoa River. No Mountain views just wooded areas, we did see some deer and pretty cabins. We did he two hour ride.

We had an absolute blast on the train ride. Mark was a terrific guide. Clean. Safe. Fun. Great snacks. The two hour layover was fun but most of the shops and restaurants were closed when we arrived. Nevertheless the train ride was worth every penny. It’s a “must do” bucket list experience in the Fall.

Finally decided to go and book this year. I've heard pretty good things. We took the 2 hour trip. Recommend getting there at least one hour before to find parking. If you are planning on having lunch maybe do 3 hours. The boarding process is super easy and fast. We got the open cart (I want to say it was 2795?) Our guide was awesome, I think he said it's his first year maybe. He did really great. 1000% go for the open cart, the breeze was great and we found it pretty relaxing. It really doesn't matter what side you pick because you rotate sides when you get to Tennessee.I would definitely recommend the 2 hour trip unless you have no way way to drive the 15 minute up to the border. But mostly because in the afternoon we found the sun hitting the leaves just right. It made them pop more and it was just very nice. Decently bring sunglasses tho some parts where very sunny.

The Blue Ridge scenic railway is a must for anyone visiting Blue Ridge. The thing I enjoyed most is that we had a narration that was very engaging. Magic Mike was our conductor and he made sure everyone was entertained. Mike told jokes throughout the ride including doing magic tricks. He acknowledged birthdays, anniversaries and anyone serving in the military. The ride was very scenic with views of the river on one side and the mountains on the other. They stuck to the schedule and we were done in about 4 hours.

If you hadn't been on the scenic railway and plan to go to Blue Ridge-- please add this to your itinerary! We had a blast on the train. I highly recommend getting the open air car because why ruin this wonderful experience looking through a window? lol. I also recommend doing the 4 hour train ride it is definitely worth it, and you get to have a layover in Copperhill, TN! Get your tickets in advance, though, because they sell out pretty quickly!

Great fall views from open air cars in October. Dress in layers for the cool mornings and sunny afternoons. Beautiful river views up and mountains back. Many locals greet the train along your way. Cabin attendant gives history and jokes along the way. Great shops and food on the layover. Would definitely recommend it for fall and train enthusiasts. We did the pedal cars the next day and had a great time!

It's a great experience to spend time with family because family has never been on a train before. We came to visit the fall leaves and see the scenery. The kids and I had a good time. The employees were very friendly, and there was a concession area inside the train offering snacks and alcoholic beverages plus a small gift shop too.The train doesn't go fast, and it's was a quiet and smooth ride.Ticket prices are a little high but overall recommended for the experience.

We had a great time riding the train! Our guide (Denisha) was knowledgeable and super friendly. Loved train car 549, and all of its history!
David H — Google review
The staff on each train cart were fantastic, especially our guide, who was both knowledgeable and engaging. While the scenic views were beautiful, the towns themselves didn’t offer much to do. Even with a four-hour stop, there wasn’t enough time for a proper sit-down meal. You mostly just walk around, see the state lines, and wander a bit. I think the time could have been better spent elsewhere. That said, the train ride itself was comfortable and made for a smooth round trip.

We are very glad we did this experience. We had the enclosed train. The server was very nice and attentive. We were provided a well portioned snack and a drink. (Drink provided on both trips). The seats were very comfortable and there were plenty of bathrooms on the train. There is a small portion of the trip that is narrated. I highly recommend the enclosed train because the day we went was cold.

This railway ride I to McCaysville, Ga/Copperhill, TN. was extremely calm and beautiful scenery between. Thoroughly enjoyed this trip and the staff on the train were knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Very nice snack box car to visit if you did not bring anything to munch on. Enjoyed the layer in the border towns fun shops to walk thru and shop, nice eats in this little area too!

My son and I went today (October 13 2024) I give it a max of 3 stars because the staff are great. The train ride is very boring and all you see are trees, rental properties (houses) and some views of the river, that's it. No mountains or tunnels to go through or anything excited/worthwhile. Great for kids age 5 and under. Mostly trees and rental properties is your "scenic" view. Would not do again.

What a great trip. I highly recommend the open air cars. I had purchased open air car tickets with my husband riding back in the locomotive, which he absolutely LOVED! We sat in the open air car together on the trip up. Now they do have to switch sides on the way back so everyone gets the river and mountain views. On the way back they put me in an enclosed car to be closer to the engine car to get pictures when we retured of my husband. The enclosed cars are nice but you have to constantly keep your head turned to look out the window and if you don't have the window seat then you have to lean around the other person to see out. For me that was just uncomfortable. But the ride in the car and hospitality is wonderful if the you don't care about the view. We just felt the open air you sit straight on looking out, and the seats were comfortable. My only other suggestion is sit on the mountain side on the way up because the sun (it's in your eyes) on the way back blocks the beautiful homes. I highly recommend this adventure and everyone that works there were absolutely amazing people.

Super great experience and ride! Booked the 4 hr. Excursion and so glad we did! (Wish there was a 3 hr. Layover! We could have really used another hour layover because there wasn't enough time to eat and see everything we wanted to with only 2! Lol!) Our car Conductor was very informative and humorous, explaining all the history and local sites that we passed along the way. We opted for the climate controlled car with better seats, which was great since it was a hot and humid day and made the ride much more enjoyable.Spend some time in Blue Rudge when you get back checking out all that the town has to offer as well!Highly recommended! Overall great day and time/money well spent!

Riding the rails will never be the same once you've tried them on a rail bike. This unique experience allows passengers to pedal or E-motor along a closed section of the Blue Ridge Railway. Guides provide lively commentary along the way while highlighting local history. Bikes are designed to accommodate 4 riders were one is a "driver" and all can assist in pedal power. The route passes through some beautiful landscapes, homes and cabins. Tickets are purchased online with pickup at the red caboose. Review all participant guidelines as there are min. and max. physical requirements. Free and paid parking are available in the town center and surrounding areas.

Loved our experience! From the apple picking to shopping to the boiled peanuts it was absolutely phenomenal. This is officially a yearly thing for my wife and I until we have our child and it’ll be a family tradition. We are trying to get our family to go for a big family trip as well. It was such a captivating experience. My wife and I just sat on the big rock on the lake and talked and jokes for almost 2 hours enjoying each other because of how at peace we felt sitting out there. If you come here please get those BOILED PEANUTS !! Dill and Spicy are the best, as well as the lemonade. The petting zoo was great, wish it were a little bigger and more incorporated into the property because it was definitely a hit! We spent enough money as if we went to an expensive restaurant! There is so much to try and buy. It’s overall an experience to have and it can be as affordable or as expensive as you want due to there being so many options! My wife and I would love to promote this on social media more as a yearly thing so please reach out to us! We love what this place holds.

As a lover for Wine && Cider, this is a must to visit! They have Cider & Wine tasting! Make their own, as well as sell other wines. My favorite was their Blackberry Wine and I don't even like blackberries. The only negative I'd say, is how small their Wine bottles are for the price. They are half the size of a normal wine bottle, which are cute, but not for the price. Would love to visit again when it's Spring and see how the fields look!

I went on a Saturday in September and again in October, and both trips were really nice. The location and property are gorgeous, the baked goods are delicious, and the apple picking is a nice activity. The apple cider donuts and fried apple pies are bomb. The weather in October was cooler and the crowd was significantly larger. The crowds also seemed to grow as the day got later, so I'd recommend getting there as early as possible.

They have it all! Everything is really good, and if you are concerned about eating too much sugar, be advised that they have a number of no-sugar-added products (apple hand pies, jams, syrups, etc.). I especially like the frozen apple cider as it travels well and is available when it's not apple season. Totally worth a stop.

This is the best farm market in Georgia! There is plenty of parking, and the mountains and fields next to the market are incredibly beautiful. The peaches they sell here are the best in Georgia. They have a variety of peaches, but you can try a few of them first, so you can decide which one you like best. The apples here are also delicious. They sell a variety of other items besides peaches, so be sure to visit! I highly recommend it!

If you visit Blue Ridge, GA, then Mercier Orchards is a must go to!!! It's an apple orchard that hosts a variety of apples, vegetables and also sunflowers. The shop on site is great with a huge variety of goods! There is also a winery on site to taste the wines and hard ciders offered. The tractor tour is well worth it, especially during U-pick!! We visited on August 2, 2024, decided on the tractor tour with U-pick. The apples available that day for picking were Blondies, Golden Supreme, and Mackintosh. All ages in our group (2yrs to 65yrs) enjoyed this part. The 2 yr old ate while he picked which is a great way to see if you enjoy the apples available. Definitely worth the trip, time and money!!!

Loved it. The weather was great. The orchard and the shop was great. Loved taking the grands to pick apples. Only drawback was the bag they gave you to hold the apples. They could be a little sturdier. GREAT EXPERIENCE

Huge orchard that offers U Pick fruit!! Beautiful landscape, fun outing, and get some fresh fruit while here.I went in September so it was apple season,$10 1/4 peck bag. A tractor takes you out to where the picking is, you can pick as much as you can fit in your bag, you can also eat the apples right off the tree! Fantastic experience!!! The apples were crisp, juicy, and amazing!!There’s also a very large general mercantile store with a free samples, bakery, produce, lots of knick knacks etc. they serve a breakfast menu until 11:30 and the bakery items are available all day. Prices are reasonable. The cookies and donut were delicious!!

It's beautiful! We just missed the U-pick, but we took our time inside, looking around. I didn't realize they have so much of EVERYTHING inside. Clothes, food, snacks, bakery, a sit-down area to eat, etc. We will definitely be back. Try these drinks! So good! We bought every flavor.

Had the wonderful fall experience of apple picking at Mercier Orchards in Blue Ridge, GA. We picked Fuji and Rome apples. Also had a great time shopping at their store and purchased more apples of many varieties as well as ciders both sparkling (hard and soft), peach butter, peanut brittle and the most delicious 9 inch strawberry rhubarb pie ever. So glad we visited. Mercier Orchards is a treasure and to be there in October was truly a joyful part of the season.

A huge store displaying their own products. I love the blue apple sparkling water, non-alcohol and alcoholic. There were free tasting inside. They also have bakery, and the apple cinnamon loaf was my fave

First time in Blue Ridge and this was on the itinerary. An amazing place! First stop was the tasting room to get a flight of the covers, ended up buying two six packs and a couple bottles of Apple and Strawberry wine. Later on, came back for the tractor tour where we got to pick sunflowers. Sometimes places like this have limited stuff to do and a very small store, but this place has everything. Didn't get a chance to eat a pie or cake, but if you really wanted to indulge here, you could easily leave the place in a wheelbarrow. Will be back!

I enjoy visiting this place every year. I like their fresh apples. I try to get every variety of their apples. Every year they put something new in their store. You can pick apples or buy from store. You can have picnic around their little lake.

If you travel into north Georgia to go apple picking this place is a MUST stop orchard! My family goes up north each year but this year was a first at Mercier Orchards and now we will ONLY be coming here! The U-pick apples are amazing and delicious. The brewery and vineyard have so much to choose from. And lastly the store has everything you could think to bring home from apple cider donuts to the best jams and jelly.

My wife and I loved the blue/black berry picking. The whole experience was great. The tractor ride up to the berries was fun. It’s very affordable as well. The main shopping center is very interesting. I would recommend for a cute date

First time ever going apple picking, and I was happy to have had that experience at Mercier Orchards! I had a blast and felt like a kid going through the Orchards and picking some delicious Fuji Apples to bring back home! I finished off the experience by going to their store to purchase some of their famous cider, which, by the way, is AMZAING!! Please don't ask, which was my favorite because I can't just pick one LOL

Me and the kids had a great time picking apples. I would have given it 5 stars but it seems a bit disorganized. There is so many little trails inside it gets so congested. We couldn't even make it back to the pies because of the congestion from the registers.

Harrah's Cherokee Valley River is a casino resort with four casual dining options, a bar and coffee shop, and well-trained staff. The location is wheelchair accessible and popular for family trips. Their food court is hygienic with quick service. They regularly add new slot machines to their collection that offer fun playing experience. The hotel rooms are comfortable with cozy beds and pillows making it an ideal vacation or weekend getaway spot.
This place is always fun. Love the free play they give out sometimes. They're doing construction to improve, so parking is a little wonky right now. Great place to possibly make a few dollars or at least be entertained.

Great place for the adults to play. I love that you can get dinner and drinks and play all in one place without having to drive anywhere. You can take food and drinks to your room. Room was very clean. The whole place was very clean and well managed...It's open 24/7 we will absolutely be back!!
Tesia M — Google review
Didn't do any pictures, but we really liked their food court options. More affordable & easily accessible than at Cherokee. We just did a day trip for a fall mountain ride. Smaller casino, so easier to navigate, but it appears they are expanding. An enjoyable & relaxing day trip from Cherokee
June B — Google review
Look the casino is clean and smoke free, which is nice. I've been visiting this casino 3 to 4 times a year because of its proximity to Atlanta. On rare occasions, I've won some decent money there. But there's no competition and they've priced me out of playing blackjack at 25.00 a hand. I often play more than that per hand, but you better be hot from the word go or else it's expensive. And when the machines are cold the whole lot of them are cold. So gamble at your own risk, but the casino is nice.

Me and my best friend came for her birthday on 10/2. We had such an amazing time. The staff was AMAZING. Again, the staff was AMAZING. Literally from security, to dealer, to cashier, to customer service; everyone added something to our experience. Bill was everywhere. It was always so nice to see him pop up at either security stand or table. Special shout-out to the cashier who bought us both a dessert for her birthday. Your action meant more than you know.We had a great time. Won some money at the Roulette table. Met some fun people and can’t wait to come back.

My wife and I visited here over the weekend for the first time. This is the most peaceful location of any casino we have ever visited! The grounds are manicured with flowers in bloom everywhere. When you step outside, the quiet and beauty of the surroundings bring a feeling of calm.Every member of staff we encountered was welcoming and helpful. The room was very clean and well appointed. The casino floor is wide open with lots of room between the sections of slots. It's much easier to get casino floor beverage service here than it's sister location in Cherokee. However, they need to reinstall the beverage service buttons on the slots. I was told this feature was removed some time ago.We look forward to returning soon!

Decor is nice. Unfortunately I had several issues. I walked into my room and the first thing I saw was several oil looking hand prints all over the wall. I promptly call front desk and they sent house keeping to clean it. She had to use several different cleaners to get it off. She left 3 separate times to go get something different. Then I checked the rest of the room and saw that the shower was not cleaned and then went to sit down and found the chair seat to have brown soiled chair stains. She wiped both of the shower and chair. So I’m thinking that was the end of my complaints. Well after dinner I started to get in bed and pulled the sheets back and found a dead bug stuck to the sheets. I was over it!I called front desk to complain yet again and she basically said she was sending up house keeping to change the sheets as she said unapologetically. Then I asked to speak to a manager. She called me and said that the only thing they can do is change the sheets as they had a packed house and no other room to transfer me to. I asked for some type of compensation and the only thing she offered was a $25 credit. I know things happen but to have a guest in a dirty room and then make it worst to find a bug in the sheets is unacceptable! This is my experience my adult children traveled with us and I haven’t heard any concerns from them. Maybe this was just an isolated incident but anyone would be very unhappy to have so many issues on the first night of checking in to only be offered a $25 credit! Make sure y’all inspect your rooms. The parking is terrible. You may have to drive all around to the bottom of the entrance to the casino floor to park. But if you have luggage make sure you take it out first as you cannot bring luggage through casino. If you get in early enough you may be able to find a closer parking space. They are doing construction fyi. So parking should get better after construction is completed. I really don’t like to give a bad review to any organization but due to the way they handled the issue I wanted to share my experience.

We didn’t stay here so I cannot comment on the rooms. We gambled here. They don’t have many tables. And bar service was slow to come around. But we like to go here when we visit the mountains. The food is good at the food court but a little slow or understaffed. Everyone is very friendly though. They root for you to win.

Short drive from Murphy! The casino is a non smoking facility and was very clean. They have a small food court which had some good food! The tables were packed (Roulette, Craps, Poker, Blackjack, etc). The slots were well laid out and had an assortment of games. Parking can be difficult but there is a shuttle with covered waiting areas!

DO NOT STAY HERE WHILE UNDER CONSTRUCTION!! Booked everything directly through Caesars and hotel directly yet Zero mention they'd be doing big time construction at 730am!! Absolutely INSANE to be woken up by extremely loud construction starting at 7am-730am literally right outside your window!Totally mind boggling they gave 0 warning of this! Who pays good money for a short get away just to be forcefully woken up at 730am!?????.THE CONSTRUCTION IS NON STOP! THEY CLEARLY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS WHATSOEVER!Update: notice how the "owner" only replies to the good reviews and completely ignores the low star reviews! Tells you all you need to know about this location! Lack of proper customer service is appalling and disrespectful. Only reply to good reviews and totally ignore those who had any issues.

Harrah’s Murphy is just a little over 2 hrs from Newnan, Ga. Much smaller than Harrah’s Cherokee. Hotel & Rooms are always clean, casino is spacious with a variety of slots & other machines, and the food court has variety of choices. Staff has always been helpful & friendly. We will cont. to visit.

Nice experience, had fun. Lots of games to choose from. I go expecting to lose, hoping to win and with a reasonable understanding of how much I am willing to lose before stopping. If you expect you are going to win, don't go. Some will, most won't. Nice little food court with reasonable prices considering where you are at. Has a bowling alley and arcade for families with children.

Casino was fine. Enjoyed it being smoke free!! Was disgusted when we took a shower the next morning and the shower was filled with mold!! It takes a while for the black to accumulate on the grout in a shower!! Was upset when we checked out! Talked to a Supervisor and showed her pics, and was told ,"Sorry, will talk to housekeeping ". That was it!!! I said if I had noticed the shower when we checked in, we would have asked to change rooms. Makes you really wonder if the rooms are really Clean!! Will NEVER go back again!!

I go to lots of casinos including Harrahs. This location is just a money loss every time.I have been 3 times. All three I dropped $300 and played slots for maybe 30 minutes tops. Didn’t get any service or drinks. No staff around, lack of fun games , no free play in anything. Place is Just a joke 🤡
Jeff R — Google review
The casino is newer, so not all the amenities are in place. There is no valet yet and only the one restaurant, there is four fast food options however. Customer service isn’t the greatest, the dealers seem angry, most of them anyway. I actually over heard them complaining about sharing tips with new dealers..I sat at a Tex hold em table game and the dealer didn’t welcome me, and then never said a word… he was an older gentleman with a mustache very scruffy and glasses…maybe Mike was his name not sure, he just seemed unhappy. Then a female dealer named Marisa was so completely rude, actually argued with another player at the craps table…was very short just nasty really. Don’t they realize they need us? The same player could have tipped her instead he walked away from the table and I think he left. Hopefully they will come around once they finish their growing stage. Murphy is a pretty area. The locals seem nice not sure why the dealers are so unhappy.

Been there quite a few times. Hotel staff friendly, room was nice. Landing Cafe service great need more variety on menu. The food is great though. I like it because it's a short drive for a quick getaway. I have never walked away a winner but that's gambling right. Just wish money lasted a little bit longer . Looking forward to another getaway soon.

Had a great time at this casino. Midafternoon, it wasn't too busy. Music was good. It's smoke-free, which made it really nice to visit. The entry was clean. Security was helpful and kept the place safe. I'll definitely visit again in the future.

Cheapest rooms on the area. They are under construction so the hotel guest have to park in the casino guest parking in back. Friendly valets and front desk staff. Check in was quick and easy. Room was clean and the temperature was already set at 68 degrees (was nice to not walk into a hot room). Clean bathroom with a very big walk-in shower. The shower head could have been raised higher to accommodate tall people. But overall, a very nice atmosphere and nice view of the mountains.

My daughter wanted to celebrate her birthday with her school besties so she decided rafting was gonna be the way to go. Nervous as heck to take 8 12-13 year olds rafting. I looked through google and found Raft 1. From the start my call with Alisha was top notch!!!! She was so friendly and helpful. We finally rafted yesterday (5/18/24) and I cant say enough about these 2 guys (Parrot and Matt G). They made sure my girls had fun!!! I have rafted with a couple of other companies and NOT ONE of them compares to RAFT 1. They are definitely gonna make sure you have a blast. RAFT 1 you guys are the best and Y’all OWN THE OCOEE. The only place Im going when its time to raft. See ya soon!!!!Joy Ford

We had a wonderful time with Holden on the Upper Ocoee. The location is easy to fine, has ample parking, and friendly staff. Our guide, Holden, was professional, constantly aware of our safety, and appeared to really enjoy his time on the water with us. His local roots provided us with many interesting facts about the river and dam as well as offering information about the area. Transportation via the vans leads for a more personal experience (as oppose to the big buses other places use) and were more comfortable. We have used other places with nicer facilities but will come back her for the more personalized services. Thank you, Holden, for sharing your time with us!

We had so much fun with Bucky and Gracie! They guided us on the zip line tour and we had a great time with them. Truly a wonderful experience 10/10 would recommend any tour done by them!We also went back and did white water rafting the following day with how great our first experience was and we got Jace and he was phenomenal! We told him we wanted to get a little roudy and he did not disappoint! He was sure to give us plenty of opportunities to do some cool tricks. It was my boyfriends first time and he did an awesome job at making him feel comfortable. From pros to first timers, Jace will be sure to give you a memorable experience! There’s plenty of places to adventure in this area, but the staff here is what makes this company stand out.

5 STARS for Flash! He was the perfect guide for our group of mixed ages. Careful to not bounce us from the raft but took on some great rapids for the younger ones. This is my 3rd outing with Raft1 and I will not book with any other outfitter on the Ocoee. Organized. Polite & Friendly. Customer first. Experienced. And all around great people to adventure with.

On 8/24/24 I had my 1st white water river rafting experience, & it was SO FUN!!! The river was great, but I have to say with AUSTIN as our guide, I can't imagine having a better experience. He was such a great combination of fun, kindness & respectfulness, knowledgeable of the river - as he "toured" us in between commands what the rocks & different areas were named, and the fun/funny stories that gave them their names!AND, with all his knowledge and experience and skills, he was able to guide us to have so much fun all along the rapids. It was a literally a perfect first experience that I'm afraid will be difficult to match....oh, AND, the group making the effort to make a slide of the bottom of the raft was super fun! Enjoyed this group of guides so much, but especially ours!!! The leaders were so nice and fun getting us trained up and loaded on the bus, too. Just great people.

Our party of 10 had a great time with Raft One. We had to use 2 rafts, but the guides were fantastic and worked well in tandem. They knew exactly how to optimize our experience using their navigational skills, on the river. Jamie was the guide in my boat and as well as being a fantastic instructor, she was full of knowledge and had many jokes. “Tricks of the trade” were very apparent on this trip as she was able to direct us through all the rapids and gave us choices with alternative outcomes. Without giving away all the secrets, I would highly recommend Jamie, and this entire crew for their exceptional rafting and entertaining skills. After having visited several different companies that offer rafting trips, I think we’ve settled on the one we’ll be using moving forward!

We had an absolute blast rafting with Flash (Callahan). My wife was extremely nervous and he made sure to ease the nerves as we went down the river. He knew all the fun things to do and read the group great to make sure we had a fun (& safe) time. Would highly recommend rafting with Raft One, it was clear that they were experienced, organized, and knew how to ensure everybody had a blast. The ride was very short from their location to the entrance to the river as well. Highly recommend for anybody looking for a fun summer rafting experience.

We had such an AMAZING time here, Parrot was such a fun guide! He was very knowledgeable and confident in what he was doing. And, I may or may not have had a panic attack before crossing the Olympic area. Parrot took the time to talk to me and made sure I was okay. He had words of encouragement that made me feel better and gave me an experience that I would never forget! I recommend being on Parrots team because he’s very experienced, loves what he does and is very funny. See you next year from the banks (:

WOW! what's a fun time with my family and Raft One. Our guide Wiley was awesome. He knew everything about the Ocoee which had me at ease knowing we were in great hands. I love the fact that all of the guides at Raft One are a family and watch out for each other as well as the clients in the (sometime out of the) raft. It was my wife's 4th time down but the first time with Raft One and she said that that was the best trip down the Ocoee she has ever had. We will always recommend Raft One and our guide Wiley.

Theme park
Fields of the Wood is a religious theme park in Murray, NC that features enormous monuments including a 30-foot-tall Bible. Visitors can also explore Prayer Mountain for a spiritual awakening experience. The attraction is popular among faithful and obedient believers who seek to connect with God. While some may have difficulty climbing up the steps due to physical limitations, it remains an awesome sightseeing destination worth exploring on one's own.
This is such a cool place! I suggest climbing up the mountain just for the experience. It is quite a hike but worth it! If you don't want to walk up the stairs, you can drive up. My 4-year-old, 65-year-old Dad, 40-year-old husband and I made the walk up and survived!Don't forget to visit the All Nations Cross while at the top. It's a long walk from the top of the Ten Commandments mountain but there are some amazing views from there too! You can also drive up there.Next up, Prayer Mountain. We drove to the top then walked down. Then we checked out the replica of the Garden Tomb. There were live bats in there (not to worry it was like 3 and they were undisturbed by us).Lastly, check out the gift shop and bring a picnic lunch. Feed the fish in the pond!Overall, just a great place to visit! Donations encouraged for upkeep.

We had a great time. My daughter and nephews had fun just feeding the fish that were near the gift shop there. The gift shop had lots of cool stuff inside. I recommend at least coming to see this place once. They did an amazing job at putting all this together and it was incredible to see the replica of Jesus' tomb as well!

It is a great place to visit! All the different scriptures posted on the stones on the sides of the mountains. They have a reptical of the tomb that Jesus was buried in. They have the ten commandments on the side of the mountain. The gift shop is outstanding. Lots of walking and lots of climbing but there are roads that can take you to the top.

Carolina Outfitters White Water Rafting in Tennessee offers an exhilarating adventure with class III and IV rapids, perfect for families and first-time rafters. The professional guides ensure safety while adding humor to the experience. Even without wetsuits on a 60-65 degree day, guests felt warm enough to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and spot wildlife like bald eagles, beavers, sharks, bats, and butterflies.
Matt Steven’s= Best tour guide ever!My partner and I came here for some whitewater rafting and we were met with unexpected freezing conditions, and even snow! Mr.Steven’s bundled us all up in wetsuits, booties, and we hit the water. He made sure our safety and comfort were top priority. It was incredible, despite the frigid water, we were able to have the entire river to ourselves and even saw a mink. If you’re considering rafting come here! I promise you won’t be disappointed. You’ll even get to hear some free stand up comedy from Matt.

We had the BEST time with Carolina Outfitters and grateful we chose to go with this group for our white-water rafting adventures. The safety instructions were fun but clear! The guides were fun and we loved "Buckeye"- our guide down the river. My teenagers sang songs and splashed the other boats and would definitely recommend Carolina Outfitters! We will use them again next summer. Thank you for such a fun trip!

Returning customer. Had a great time on the river. 2nd day of 2022 season. Perfect weather. Annie and Matt were the best. Great local knowledge of the history of the Nantahala gorge. Family owned and only want you to have a great time. Not like the larger corporate owned center down the highway. Look forward to coming back again.

Our Church visited Black Mountain for a Team Building camp at the YMCA blue ridge Assembly Camp. We decided to take a day to raft down the Nantahala River. We booked rafting for 40 people here and it was simple. We had 6 boats. The workers were kind, and prompt. The shop was very clean and had all your needs if you forget something. ( close toe shoes, glasses, etc..) Inside the shop, they have multiple changing rooms for changing into dry clothes after rafting. The boats and paddles are top notch. They do have guided and non guided trips. During your adventure on the river, at the very end on the last rapid, someone will take professional pictures of your boat crew. You are then able to look at the photos on 2 big screen TVs and buy them inside if you want. If you decide not to at that time, they will post them on their website and you can purchase them later if you want. Our church had a blast. Thank you Carolina Outfitters for A+ service!

Amazing trip. Our guide Ian was so ridiculously awesome. He made the trip just one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had in my life. He always wants to have fun. Also, he saved helped some people's lives while we were rafting, as they were not following any instructions. Super fun experience. He also recommended restaurants and all sorts of things. Please, owner, tell Ian my thanks and gratitude. Thanks so much!

Our very first time rafting! We don’t have all this gorgeous scenery in TEXAS! Ian did NOT disappoint…trip full of memories that will last me a lifetime 💕 the rain…sunshine…and 8 miles of fun facts and laughter!!! The picture was before! Between the husband and our guide Ian…they made sure I looked like a raccoon in the first 5 min!!! The entire staff was amazing and extremely informative. Thank you, NOC for this amazing experience! We will be back ✌️

My friend and I had THE BEST time white water rafting with Carolina Outfitters last Saturday! Our guide, Buckeye, was so fun, kind, and knowledgeable, and he encouraged us do some fun tricks in the rapids (and walked us through exactly how to do them)! He kept us engaged and involved while also telling us fun facts about the area and stories from his past adventures. There was a non-guided raft with our group that was struggling and he was really patient with them and gave some tips to help them get back on track. He truly made everyone on our raft feel like we were pros. I HIGHLY recommend this company for your next adventure and can’t say enough good things about Buckeye - ask for him on your trip and I guarantee you’ll have a great time!

Carolina Outfitters White Water Rafting is a fun experience that takes you on an intense ride through the Nantahala river. Our tour guide, Buckeye was very interactive and engaging which allowed us to truly immerse ourselves in the beautiful nature that surrounded us. The guides were all patient and understanding. I liked seeing the landmarks and the fun names they called the different things you pass by. Overall, I recommend Carolina Outfitters White Water Rafting for anyone in the market for such a fun and engaging activity.

My husband and I were up for Memorial Day weekend and decided to give rafting a try. There are several options to choose from and, I'm not going to lie, we chose this one randomly from a Google search... all I can say is WOW! The entire experience was fantastic!! Our guide, Ian, was amazing! He had a calm demeanor and was highly attentive, providing clear instructions to inexperienced rafters in a way we could all understand. His commitment to safety is top notch and he made the trip extremely enjoyable with his easygoing sense of humor and local history and points of interest along the river he grew up on.... we will 100% be coming back to do this again!! Yes, the river is beautiful and any rafting outfit can bring you safely down, but these folks enhanced the experience and left us feeling like we were old friends. You can tell that it's not just about the money here. I wish I had 10 stars to give them because they earned it!!... Also, if you go see them please please tip your guide!! They definitely deserve it!!

The whole family had a good time. Personable and not a cattle call outfit, like we saw at the other giant venues on the river. The shirts and sticker designer likes to sell stuff, because all my kids had cool shirts that they wanted to buy. We spent more at the gift shop and left behind stuff we had to have.

We loved our time rafting with Carolina Outfitters. The whole experience was amazing and perfect for our kids (aged 8 and 11). The staff was super professional and safe and made us feel at ease the whole time! (I recommend getting Jason as your guide - he was GREAT!)Highly recommend Carolina Outfitters! We will be back!

Highly recommend Carolina Outfitters! Our family of 4 had an absolute blast with Ian our raft guide! It was the first time for all of us. We felt safe with Ian and we got down the river without any trouble! Prior to the bus ride to the put in spot, they go over a safety check list and make sure everyone has a flotation device that fits. They also had plenty of bathrooms and changing rooms which was nice! You have an option to buy your pictures that are taken from a platform on the last rapid. We would definitely go again!

Second trip down the Natahala with Carolina Outfitter. Had some family visiting from Florida and they wanted to give it a try. Hooked up with Capt Wolf and could have not had a better experience. This company rocks, from their customer service to the safety of everyone, they are on it. I highly recommend them for anyone that wants to have a great fun safe ride down this river. Can't say enough about Capt. Wolf knowledge, experience and way he loves to play. On a scale from 1 to 10 this company and Capt Wold are rated at a 20. Thanks you Carolina Outfitter for making me and my family visit great!

Our family had such a great experience white water rafting for the first time with our two kids (10 and 12). Our guide was Jeremy, and he kept the entire trip down the river fun, safe, and even educational. He was an excellent guide and was knowledgeable about the river and how to offer us choices on how much fun we were ready for (“spin or no spin” 😁). We loved going with this company because they are locally owned and have excellent customer service.

We rented a double duckie for my wife and I. I have rented one on the Hiwassee river before, and was nervous about this being too much river for us as my wife isn’t very experienced. It ended up being perfect. Very few flat water parts that can get boring. The people there were so nice. I missed our 10am appointment and called to let them know beforehand. They had a cancellation for 11am and were able to get us in with no fuss. One of the best parts of this place was the shirt selection. Not only did they have great designs, they also were printed on nice shirts. I don’t care how good the design is if it’s a cheap shirt. I think we got 3 in all. Great people there. I would highly recommend them.

These guys were so cool! We did a self guided trip but they gave us every tool we needed to have an amazing day. Their equipment was in pristine condition, the staff super helpful, and friendly. I would highly recommend! They also had a convenient location with plenty of parking and the best prices around by a long shot! I can’t say enough good about them! We’re already planning to come back soon.

We had a group of ladies, many of which had never been rafting before. We had a blast. The guides were amazing. This would have been a 5 star review, however, at the end an incident happened with an unguided boat that was pretty terrifying. It would be highly recommended that people who want to go unguided are properly vetted for skill, or that the trip leader goes on front of the unguided rafts to show them how to get through the river. I should make it clear that the incident was not the fault of this company, but a few policy changes could prevent this from happening again.

Our family took our first ever trip yesterday......and this group of folks were absolutely outstanding!!! We had to adjust our group size and deal with refunds and redirection of funds (and as you probably know, doing those things the day of an event can be quite difficult if not impossible) and they were flawless!! They never flinched at taking care of us and what we needed from them. Beyond that our guide, Buckeye, was absolutely amazing!! He was kind, knowledgeable, and very personable. He made the entire trip down river an enjoyable experience!! And of course the river and scenery was awesome also! Overall amazing experience for us...if I could give them a 10 I would. Will definitely be returning to go again with them in the future!!! AMAZING FOLKS!!

My boyfriend and I booked a trip with this amazing company and had the time of our lives! Everyone that works for this family-owned business was so kind, helpful, and humorous! Our guide Jeremy was outstanding! He was so knowledgeable about the area’s history, flora & fauna, and the river. His knowledge of the river and his excellent steering allowed us to do rock spins which was an absolute blast. Jeremy also gave us many tips about local hikes and restaurants in the area. We will be back to take on the duckies!

Tour company offering guided white-water-rafting trips down the Ocoee River for guests ages 12 & up.
It was so much fun! The company is very thorough, in safety and information you need to know. They tell jokes and have great personalities. Our guide was Dan he was so helpful and really knew how to navigate the river. I would highly recommend this company to anyone who wants to go white water rafting. Their location is also close to everything you need, Deli Dam and diner just down the road, our cabin was just a mile away and there are many other rentals nearby.

I had the best rafting experience ever!. I stayed at the Whitewater RV Park which is associated with the Cherokee rafting company. It is nicely laid out on a hillside with flat paved sites. I arrived in the night to a gated property. Since I did not check my email for the code, called up the owner who graciously answered and gave me the code. The owner also provided me a shuttle from the park to the rafting center the next day. The rafting was top notch, excellent staff, very well trained and super safe. The store has everything you would need. The property has a fun vibe with lots of activities to do while you wait for the bus. They take you by bus to the drop in spot. While rafting, I saw other rafting trips getting hung up on rocks and turned around but not our trip. Our guides were experts and the work environment for these guides is also excellent. Yes, I got wet but I was never cold. I sat in the front left side. There are showers at the store if needed. I want to come back and bring my grandkids.

This was the first time we had ever done whitewater rafting and the trip and our guide, Rebeka, were great. We did the full river. We had this as a bucket list item and it did not disappoint. So much fun even though I did fall out of the raft at Hell's Hole (it was the last rapid that we went through).

If you're looking for an exciting rafting adventure, I recommend the Cherokee Rafting Company. I've been on tons of rafting trips, and this one of my favorites. The guides are super experienced and will cater the trip to your needs. My family and I had a blast. The river has many drops, twists, and turns. The water felt great and was really clean. All the trips the offer are outstanding. If you have time, I recommend the trip that features the upper and middle sections. They only run them on the weekends, but I highly recommend it. Their prices are super reasonable and they are very professional. My family never stopped smiling the entire trip. Give them a shot if your in the area.

He was super knowledgeable about the river and did everything to ensure we had the best time. You could also tell that safety was of ultimate importance— the guides were frequently communicating with each other and making sure everyone was getting high adventure while staying safe.Best rafting we have ever done!! 10/10 recommend!!

The lady that drove them up on the bus told us where to stop on the way down, where to pull over to wait on them, to watch them come down to take pictures. She was amazing! Great day all around! This was our first time doing this, def will not be our last!

Noah was an absolute best tour guide you could ask for! I haven’t been white water rafting in years and taking my family for the first time since my total knee replacement he made the trip everything you could ask for and gave my husband the best Father’s Day out! The care Noah and level Cherokee crew gave was above and beyond helping others on the river, the sincerity they gave, the smiles they shared to the corny jokes you had to laugh at! They truly do make you feel like you’re apart of the family. Just 1 hour away to 10 hours away make it a day stop you won’t regret!

First, I'll like to start by giving the most credit to our guide Big John. He was knowledgeable, informative, and extremely fun. This was most of our 1st time and Big John made this a adventurous and thrilling experience. This facility has so much to offer. There are so many activities to do prior to your rafting. I will definitely be back for the entire route only to have Big John as our guide. LISTENING TO YOUR GUIDE is the most important thing to do to maximize the best experience!!

We have booked trips with Cherokee Rafting several times over the last few years and have loved every trip! This most recent trip we did the full river and had a blast! Our guide Ethan made the trip so much fun! He knew we wanted adventure and had us surfing, doing 360s, kissing the bull, choosing the more action packed rapids when available, and let us do some cool entries into rapids. It was a great time!

So this was a first time experience for me. My wife has done this when she was a teen so she was out of experience. I'll say these guys are top notch. They were fun but serious when needed. They had all the gear you needed and were more then accommodating to others. Will use these guys again. Also we booked a whole day, with lunch if your curious. The time goes by fast and I would think the smaller trips would just go by to fast to really enjoy. Will highly recommend.

My wife, son, and his girlfriend did the middle Ocoee rafting trip today. Both my son and I had been on white water trips previously but it was the first time for my wife and his girlfriend. Both were anxious before the trip began. Our guide was Dan (aka Steely Dan) and he made sure that they understood everything and was terrific at communicating what sort of "rapid" was up next. All four of us had a wonderful time and both my wife and his girlfriend are eager to return! The middle Ocoee trip takes about three hours. During the trip you will get soaking wet! After the rafting trip is over, they do have changing rooms with showers so be sure to take a change of clothes and a brush or comb. The first trip out for this trip is 9AM. The river can get a bit congested with rafts later in the day, so consider going to the early trip.We live in a north suburb of Atlanta, and it is a very easy day trip!

Rafted on 7-10-23 with my family. We have done rafting before in Colorado and have always enjoyed it, but this was the best time ever. The river is great because of constant action, and our guide Jon was phenomenal. We took the more adventurous line on a number of the rapids and then would go back and surf some of them. He was constant energy. We got to the last two rapids and he asked if we wanted to take the road less traveled, noting that you could get tossed from the raft. We chose that and all five of us went for a swim. It was awesome. Highly recommend. If you can get Jon, you will have the best time.

We spent two days with OAR. We did the tube float one day and the full river raft tour the next. Our group had mixed feelings about the tube float but it stormed for most of the trip, which made it hard to enjoy. The guide was very nice and helpful. Some of us felt a little uncomfortable in the tubes which made it feel longer and not helpful in relaxing. Probably wouldn’t choose the tube float again. The real fun was taking the whitewater raft trip. It was exciting and totally worth the trip to the Ocoee. Our guide, Caleb, was super chill and in full control of our trip down the river. His expertise and friendly disposition put us at ease immediately and made for a perfect recipe for an awesome trip. I will ask for him the next time we go. I did get flipped out twice 🫣 in rapids and was quickly pulled out. The guides we observed from OAR all day definitely know what they are doing and can be trusted to get you downriver safely. They also provided lunch at a midway stop which was basic sandwich and chips and a drink but it hit the spot. We had a wonderful experience and highly recommend this group!

First of all, our guide named James was the absolute best! We were in TN for a wedding and four of us decided we wanted to go white water rafting. SO FUN! It was around a 3 hour trip on the river for the half day. Our guide named James really took the best care of us and the others on the river. He took us to jump off a big rock, pointed out landmarks, let me “ride the bull,” and navigated us safely through lots of crazy rapids! He was kind, smart, and not afraid to call me out for paddling the wrong way. 😂 We helped rescue a couple people who had fallen out of their rafts too which added to the fun. I’d recommend buying the pictures at the end, they’re such a fun way to remember such a neat adventure. JJ was also an awesome person. Overall, OAR was a 10/10 experience. Nice gift shop, great guides, dynamic river rafting experience, great safety protocols, just the full package! Ask for James!

Outdoor Adventure Rafting totally blew us away from the moment I called for a last-minute booking to the end of our trip. Laura was an absolute gem when my GPS led us astray. She patiently guided us to the right spot and even came out to greet my mom and me – talk about top-notch service!Choosing the 3-hour guided rafting trip on the Middle Ocoee as a first-timer was the highlight of our trip. Jon, our guide, was incredible. His knowledge of rafting and the local area made the whole experience a blast. And let me tell you, we couldn't stop laughing as a group when we saw the photo at the end of the trip and we realized Jon had jumped while we waved cluelessly at the camera.Overall, Outdoor Adventure Rafting's amazing staff, with Laura's warm welcome and Jon's expertise and humor, make them the absolute best choice for an unforgettable rafting adventure. Their dedication to making every moment perfect really sets them apart.

Had Brett as our guide today. He did a wonderful job making the trip fun and interacting with folks. It was a good half river ride of playing around in the fun spots of the river. Not the most difficult experience I’ve had, but it was fun doing some more of the non straight forward paddle through rapids stuff. Would definitely go back for the full River day trip! Great time by everyone in our raft!

I camped at OAR for 7 nights over a two week period. Their accommodations are fantastic. A quick walk to the bathroom & showers make camping a joy. They have several cabins, but I was camping. I was impressed with their Guide's knowledge and rafting skills. As a first time White water rafter, I was at ease with their captains at the helm. I did more than one trip. OAR has access to a great location just below the dam, for tubing. On my relaxing day, I tubed down with a group. I saw several groups, churches, schools and familys tubeing while I was there, everyone having a blast. I also used my paddleboard to launch at that same spot to go down river. It was fun , not too rough, and beautiful. This will always be my first stop as I leave Florida for fun

Highly recommend for rustic camping, whitewater rafting, and tubing trips. It’s a quiet place to camp which I love. Sits right on the lower Ocoee and has great tubing trips for people with young children or who want a relaxing day. They also offer Middle and Full river trips if whitewater rafting is your style. They have trips running every day the river is on for tubing and whitewater rafting. They have a large campground great for camping off grid, tents, or car camping. Lots of hot showers, and ample restroom facilities. Nice store for tshirts, memorabilia, and snacks. If you prefer a cabin, they have plenty of those, and specialize in large groups.Family friendly environment. Outfitter was taken under new ownership a little over a year ago (female owned 💕) by a prior employee. The improvements to the facilities and equipment in a year are commendable and I highly encourage visiting this outfitter. If you go rafting request Dirty Mike 🥰

We had an amazing time rafting with OAR. This was the first time for my 12 and 14 year old and it has been nearly 20 years since my husband and I had gone whitewater rafting. Our guide, Sam, was awesome! He quickly learned the names of the kids and addressed them which allowed them to be more comfortable in a new situation. My youngest even did the “ride the bull”! I have loved rafting the Ocoee River four times now here in East Tennessee with Outdoor Adventure Rafting. We've had great time every trip with Brock & Charlie in the past and with Sam this last weekend. They have each been very professional and fun and have worked really hard to give us a fun trip. This past weekend, we brought some international students to raft for their first time. Most didn't even know how to swim but they each loved their experience and Sam helped each one to feel safe and have a great trip on the river. Mission accomplished!

My thirteen year old son described this as “one of the best experiences of his life”. We decided to do a father son rafting trip after finding a heck of a deal on Groupon. We arrived at 10:30 for the 11am middle river trip. The facility was clean and organized and the staff was super friendly. You can leave your keys and phone with them, which felt safe. There were clear instructions on how to be safe on the water and were separated into groups. The drive on the bus was fun and the time it took to get unloaded and on the river was impressive. These guys run a well oiled machine. The trip itself was so much fun and I won’t review it so that I don’t take away some of the adventure. It was safe, a good amount of time, and worth every penny. You will get wet, like within the first two minutes. I also highly recommend leaving your phone, camera and anything else valuable back at the lodge or in your car. It’s very clear within few minutes that there’s a good possibility you’ll be swimming. A photographer will get some great photos that you can purchase at the end of your trip. Do yourself a favor and, buy the photos. This trip will be something my son and I talk about the rest of our lives. We’ve even decided to make this a yearly trip and we can’t thank the folks at High Country Adventures for the wonderful experience. Shout out to our guide Ricky, thanks for pulling me back in my friend!

Ricky was absolutely amazing!!! We brought a group of 6 and he was so professional, hilarious, and made us feel so relaxed during the trip. We can’t wait to book with him again! Can I give him 10 stars? Because we would. My husband and I have been down the river before, but this was our favorite experience. We recommend getting the picture package as well. There are so many great pictures (45, I believe).

This was my first time whitewater rafting, and I can 100% say that I loved it!The staff there were super welcoming and friendly, and they all had a light-hearted, upbeat attitude, and definitely made the whole experience that much better! After a scenic drive to the dam where the rafting starts, we met our guide and learned our commands, and this began our trip down the river.I won't spoil the trip, because I definitely think you should do it yourself, but just know that it is definitely worth it.Also, quick shout out to some of our guides, TC Lee, Jack, and Hannah!

In the heart of Tennessee lies the Ocoee River, a fierce torrent renowned for its treacherous white-water rapids. Among the world’s most skilled navigators of these wild waters was Ace, a legendary rapids leader whose name was whispered with reverence and awe. His expertise and courage had earned him the title of the world's greatest, a title he upheld with pride and precision.Ace’s latest challenge was unlike any he had faced before. A team of mercenaries, hardened by countless battles, sought his guidance to traverse the Ocoee. Their mission was shrouded in secrecy, but Ace knew enough: they were pursuing a hidden treasure, rumored to be guardeud by ancient forces and modern dangers alike. As the team gathered at the river’s edge, Ace’s piercing eyes protected by Pit vipers scanned the group. Their leader, a grizzled and bearded warrior named Scout, met his gaze with a nod of respect. “Lead us to victory, Ace,” Scout said, his voice rough with anticipation. The Ocoee roared with a ferocity that would have made lesser men tremble. But Ace was no ordinary man. With a calm that belied the danger, he gave the signal, and they pushed off into the current. The first challenge came swiftly. Razor-sharp rocks jutted from the water, creating a gauntlet of obstacles. With deft maneuvers, Ace guided the raft, his commands clear and decisive.Suddenly, the water churned violently. From the depths emerged river sharks, their teeth glinting menacingly. The mercenaries, weapons at the ready, fought valiantly, but it was Ace’s knowledge of the river that saved them. Using the currents to their advantage, he steered them through the fray, the sharks’ snapping jaws just missing their mark.Their relief was short-lived. On the riverbanks, shadows moved with stealth and purpose. Cherokee warriors, fierce and proud, had come to protect their sacred land. Ace raised his hand, signaling for peace. He spoke in their tongue, a language he had learned in his youth. Respecting the river and its guardians, he negotiated safe passage. The Cherokee, impressed by his honor and skill, allowed them to continue, but not without a warning of the horrors that lay ahead. The river’s calm was deceptive as they ventured further. Flesh-eating fish, creatures of nightmare, swarmed the waters. The mercenaries fought desperately, but it was Ace’s quick thinking that turned the tide. He remembered an old trick: a concoction of herbs that repelled the beasts. Sprinkling it into the water, he watched as the fish retreated, their malevolent eyes glinting with frustration.Exhausted but undeterred, they finally reached their destination: a hidden cove where the treasure lay buried. The mercenaries cheered, their mission a success. Yet, it was Ace who stood apart, his eyes reflecting the river’s endless flow.As the sun set over the Ocoee, Scout approached Ace. “We couldn’t have done it without you,” he said, extending his hand. Ace shook it, a rare smile crossing his face.“It’s the river,” Ace replied. “Respect it, and it will guide you.”With the mission complete, Ace watched as the mercenaries departed, their hearts filled with gratitude and their pockets heavy with treasure. He turned back to the river, his true home, ready for the next adventure. For Ace, the greatest white-water rapids leader, the Ocoee was more than a challenge; it was a testament to his indomitable spirit and unyielding mastery over nature’s wildest waters.

We had an amazing day conquering the Ocoee River with my friends thanks to High Country! This was not the first time we booked with them, and it certainly won't be the last. Their service is top-notch, and their experienced guides make the trip both enjoyable and safe. High Country is definitely our go-to choice for rafting adventures. Highly recommended!

My family and I really enjoyed this place. It's very clean and very well kept and very professionally run. They have a great outdoor space with tables to bring your lunch and eat like we did. They have some great souvenirs cups mugs and t-shirts you can buy. And now on to the good stuff the rafting. Their buses are clean the guides are hilarious and even the safety spiel was very entertaining. We got a chance to have Greg d be our guide and he's been doing this for 30 some odd years and you can tell. We had a great time and easily navigated the river. All the boats stuck together and we're very safety conscience allowing us just to have a great time for a day out on the river. I would highly recommend them and hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

Super well organized and knowledgeable staff. A big shoutout to Jacob Stocklass, our boat captain today. This is the best white water rafting tour around!! We have now gone a few times and every time has been an incredible adventure story lol. Shelley is the best guide ever hands down! But all of the guides there are amazing an experienced. You feel excited and safe and having fun all at the same time. They start out by giving you an intro class and teach you how to do the paddles etc. Then you board the bus and ride down to the entrance at the river. The lunch they serve is pretty good too and they even offer a veggie option. There is also a really fun part before lunch where you swim and float down the river. The water gets colder as the season ends, we went the second time on last day of the season. But what an incredible ride. The first time we conquered the Godzilla rapid was unreal and the second time too. If you stay on the raft or if you flip you will be well prepared and it will be an adventure of a lifetime. We cannot wait to go back next year! They also take pictures the entire time so you have the option to buy one or all of them at the end. Team Kenny!

Today, my group of 9 rode the Ocoee Mid level with Pink! I’ve ridden this a few times, but we had rookies who wanted to experience it. This was the best ride I’ve ever had on the Ocoee! Pinky took us surfing and just gave us the best experience ever! Best part- he yells, “ slide left!” Everyone slid left and it was just to flip our raft! Lol! We all had a great laugh and will definitely come back to ride the upper! When you’re there… ask for Pink!

While it's a popular route for motorcyclists, the scenic byway also offers an unforgettable experience for drivers with its sweeping mountain vistas and forested slopes. It's recommended to embark on this journey on a clear day with mild weather to fully appreciate the natural beauty along the way.

Waterfalls
This scenic, 90-foot waterfall is a popular destination for nature observation & photography.
Oh my goodness, I am not from the southeast so these waterfalls are some of the most spectacular I have ever seen. You can view this majestic beauty right from your car while crossing a bridge, so it is super accessible for anyone. There is also a steep mountain path that ascends to the top of the fall if you are up for some steep slippery steps. This entire area is amazingly beautiful.
Josh M — Google review
During the fall season it was completely astonishing and the colors were truly remarkable. Something I have only seen in books or magazines. It was busy but never seemed to be over crowded. The path next to the waterfall was beautiful. It went to the top along one side, which was a fairly easy hike. And along the other side you hike to the bottom to see the white water rapids. Where we did see a few people kayak. We do plan on a future trip when it is warmer to try this. It look really fun!

It's worth the drive! This is a beautiful spot and the drive to the falls is breathtaking. The road is a little narrow so take your time to enjoy nature. You will want to cross the bridge to reach a parking area. Most people will walk on to the bridge for that perfect photo! There are steps that will lead you up to the very top of the falls, just be sure to have good walking shoes on and watch your step.If you're in the area this is a must see stop! We really enjoyed our visit.

Wonderful place to visit. My only complaint is all the people and a serious lack of parking. However if your patient and don't mind a little walk you should definitely take the time and make the trip. Personally my friends and I took our motorcycles and got some killer pictures. There are trails to hike and paths down to the water if you would like to swim. We'll worth the frustration of finding a parking spot. Also don't let me forget the drive there is very nice and scenic.

I love that visitors can drive right up to the falls and park. This makes enjoying nature easier for people with limited mobility or limited time. For those who can, the hiking trail to the left of the falls will take you to the top. New vistas and places to carefully wade await you at the top.UPDATE: River Rd to the falls is washed out and will be closed until 2025!Conasauga falls is accessible if you have a raised 4x4 or a dirt bike.

Absolutely gorgeous 90 foot falls in the Cherokee National Forest!! Family agreed it was well worth the time to get there. You drive right past the falls and there is no hike so it would be perfect for those with mobility issues. Absolutely wonderful piece of nature.

We visited the Bald River Falls on our third annual Autumn drive on the Cherohala Skyway. The Falls is about 6 miles off the Skyway on the Tennessee side. You could view the Falls from your vehicle, but that would be a mistake. The parking lot is located just past the bridge overlooking the falls. The multi-level fall with a 90-foot drop into a rocky riverbed is stunning. The falls can be viewed from the bridge, or you can walk under the bridge for a broad perspective. The view left me wondering why I hadn't been here before. The Bald River Falls Trail can also be accessed from here for a 5.6-mile hike along the river.

Beautiful waterfall near Tellico. Park after the bridge and you will see stairs up the top of the falls. Worth the trek. That takes you to trail 88 as well.
Tim E — Google review
This is a little out of the way, but if you are near Tellico Plains, it’s worth the stop. The water fall is beautiful from the bridge, but there is also a trail up to the top where can relax and enjoy the sound of the water in the shade or on the rocks. Not a strenuous hike at all. Only takes a few minutes.
Scott H — Google review
Waterfall is right at the parking lot, you can walk to the bottom on both sides and near the top in the left. Careful not to let any kids or pets run to the top, there is no safety rail to prevent anyone from walking too close and slipping down! This is located about 10 minutes off the Cherohala Skyway. I look forward to doing the trail behind the falls, it’s about 10 miles total. I read that 4.7 miles in is a picnic area overlooking cascades!
A.M — Google review
Incredible! Best hike of my life so far. The waterfall is right there when you park so if that's all you're after, it's easy. But if you want an amazing, relatively easy, hike just go up the stairs to the top of the waterfall and follow the trail. There are more falls and unceasing beauty beyond. I went about 2.5 miles back before turning around. Absolutely stunning!

It was very beautiful, easy hike. You come to bsld river falls before the parking lot. I didnt get to hike the whole trail due to trees were down & blocking the path. The water was shin high the most. Great for kids to swim in.

Bald River Falls, Cherokee National Forest, Monroe County Tennessee. Bald River Falls which is from 80-100 feet tall flows into the Tellico river. The falls is visible from a bridge across the river from the Tellico River Road 6 miles from its start off the Cherohala Skyway. Easy hike to reach the top of falls, plenty of parking and a beautiful drive to reach the falls. Consider liking my review and pictures and follow along with me on all my adventures. Most beautiful relaxing waterfall I have ever seen. It is directly off the roadway. I could spend many hours of prayer and enjoying the awesomeness of nature. Can’t really do that because it is so wonderful many tourists visit it as a scenic place. It gets a bit noisy because people like to share what they are seeing and feeling about its beauty while they are there. There is entry therefore no wait time. No tickets necessary no fee. Free as all God’s gifts.Remember to take your trash with you so it stays beautiful.

What a beautiful place. Bald River Falls is located in Tellico Plains, Southeast TN. Great place for a weekend getaway or a day trip. Plenty to do and see. Hiking trails, kayaking, fishing, 🚴🏻♀️ and more. The drive to the park is beautiful. The waterfall, water streams and rivers are breathtaking and the sunset around the area was amazing. One of the Best waterfalls I've ever seen!! A small hike to the top is worth the view as well! The sound is so relaxing. Next time we will take chairs to sit at the bottom.

The road up is NOT for lower sitting cars. Even SUVs that sit lower need to take their time up. I made it in my car but it took a while. Lol. Love this spot, it never disappoints!

I have the falls and along the river. This is a great place to visit and you can go right up to the falls and if you like climb up to the top for a top view while in the river. Driving along side the river is a great site also as getting to the falls and don't forget to go to the baby falls alittle further down.

2 stars only because there was no way of knowing it was closed until I got within 5 miles of the falls.😞Sadly, we did not get to see the falls because the road was closed but the drive to it following the river was beautiful. Hope that the next time I take that drive the road to the actual falls will be open.

Always enjoy going there. It was nice and relaxing just spending some time with my son and eating ice cream. I hope the tours start back soon.

We recently visited the Mayfield Dairy Visitor Center in Athens, TN, and were impressed by the experience, even though we couldn’t participate in the guided tour, which is offered only during the weekdays. The Visitor Center is charming, with a wide variety of Mayfield-themed merchandise, from hats to t-shirts and even adorable tote bags. The nostalgic displays and informative signage about the dairy’s history and ice cream production process give great insights into the scale of their operations. The highlight of our visit was definitely the ice cream! We ordered the “Pirate’s Treasure” flavor from the ice cream bar, and it was hands down the creamiest ice cream we’ve ever had. The blend of flavors was unique and delicious—a real treat! The extensive list of flavors displayed at the ice cream bar offers something for everyone, making it tough to choose just one.The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. They happily answered all our questions about the manufacturing facility and its processes. You can tell they take great pride in their work, and that enthusiasm made the visit even more enjoyable. If you're in the area, definitely make a stop here, and if you visit on a weekday, don't miss the tour! Plus, you’ll get a free scoop of ice cream with your tour ticket—what could be better?

We stopped for a quick dairy tour and dessert pit stop. Tours include ice cream with paid admission of $4.50 Adults and $3.50 children... tours are on the hour and lasting 45 minutes. The staff we encountered hardly smiled and was not overly friendly... not sure if they were having an off day. (minus the 1 star) otherwise it was worth the stop. Unfortunately no photography is allowed while on tour. On the way out we did encounter a fairly young staff member that went out of her way to say thank you for coming today and come back and see them! Also inquired if we enjoyed the tour and desserts...

We did the tour, which was very cool. Lots of information about packaging and how things are done. Just FYI there are several sets of steps involved. The tour ends with an ice cream... we assumed kiddie cones, but no- double scoop! That was a nice surprise.

Temporarily Closed as of 02/13/2021 but unfortunately they do not have any information posted on any of their public contact site. We took the drive out just to verify since we had previously taken the tour and wanted to share the cool experience with friends who had not. Definitely worth it if they ever resume the tours. Otherwise it's still a scenic area of Tennessee to visit.

The dairy had great ice cream! The tour for kindergartners could have been better. All of the areas we toured were not working for one reason or another. The tour offered videos in the tour areas but the videos didn't have the same effect as the actual machines working.

Disgusting, awful, should be shut down. We took a tour of the facility. They make the visitors wear a hair net, even on Male's beards, The factory workers do not wear a hair net, gloves or any kind of protective gear. The place was filthy, there were chemicals spilled on the floors, half the machinery didn't work. There were plastic bottles/containers for Great Value milk, and tea and for Mayfield milk, etc) on the floor and stuck in different parts of the machines. The windows looked like they have never been cleaned. There was rust everywhere. They don't let you take pictures. This factory is a health hazard. They make their own ice creams and dairy products and also for Walmart.I will never again eat their products or Great Value brand products.

This place was pretty cool! We went on the tour. They show you how to make ice cream and milk. They serve a free scoop of ice cream as well. The ice cream was delicious. They don't let you take pictures or videos whilst touring for privacy reasons which is understandable. I took a few pictures of the gift shop and the outside. Definitely worth going if you're in the area.

Neat 30 min tour of the factory. Saw them making the milk cartons and packaging the milk and labeling the cartons. Had strong smell of buttermilk and chemicals, but otherwise fine. Had to wear hair nets. No photographs allowed inside the factory.Had a decent scoop of ice cream after.

Quality is usually what comes to mind when someone mentions Mayfield. Unfortunately quality is NOT how the tour started. While the tour is sufficient and complete it seems dated. The projection screen in the theatre needs repair. Some displays are faded and also apear dated. The only things that seem to have been updated are the gift shop and ice cream parlor. The tour guide was knowledgeable and efficient. She was good. The main problem is with the dated, worn-out pre-tour facilities. Fortunately the ice-cream IS still quality and very delicious!I WANTED to give 5 stars, but could not honestly do so. The dairy has changed ownership in recent years and unfortunately the tour no longer appears to be a priority. DFA (Dairy Farmers of America) acquired Mayfield in March, 2020.Bring back Scottie Mayfield!

As someone that's been to Mammoth Caves, this is a small cave, but 100% worth seeing while in the area. The sounds of the stream running through it is beautiful, with an underground waterfall as well! I had seen another review saying the water in the stream was drinkable, I asked my tour guide and he confirmed. The water simply tastes like... water lol. Would be an excellent retreat from the heat in the summertime as it's nice and cool in the cave.

Fantastic cave to visit. We've seen quite a few all over the world but this one is definitely among our favorites. It's so varied with the water stream next to you, the huge cave and the river sides. Can highly recommend going here. The talk about the steps was a bit silly, it's very doable for pretty much all people. Just take your time if not too fit, why hurry anyway?

You need to experience this at least once! The guided tour is very informative, and the staff is friendly. We were comfortable in jeans and long sleeves as it's around 58 degrees. If you have trouble with stairs, you might need to sit this your out. There are steep stairs going down into the cave and you have to climb the same steps to get back out. The underground creek was great. Our kids enjoyed looking for crawdads.

It was a great tour for about $20 to $30. I forgot the total, but it was not that pricey. The tour was informative and honestly better than I expected. Cave is big but not overwhelming or scary, and most people should be able to walk it. Just be sure you can handle stairs okay. Do not judge photos as it is difficult to grasp the size. Some of the rooms are BIG, about a football field in size. The tour was about 2 hours. I went with my niece and nephew, who were 12 and 14, and both also thought it was fun and cool.

Such a fun experience! Had a large group and we were all able to go together. There is lots of stairs (400 and something). We had people aged 5-55 and a pregnant woman who handled it well. But we passed some people who were definitely struggling. Our tour guide was awesome. Lots of neat facts and the story behind the caverns is cool.

Ore (Ory?) was the absolute best guide! Very personable, funny, and kind. He was always aware of the younger kids on the tour (including my 3) and incorporated them with humor and caring. He made sure that they didn't miss the bear shadow and wishing well. Specifically paused and talked to the littles. The first half is a lot of stairs. The second half is flatter and full of rivers and waterfalls. Such an incredible experience! Do not miss it!

We visited two years ago and my family and the experience was nothing short of amazing! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the friendly and knowledgeable staff who made us feel welcome and excited for the adventure ahead. The caverns themselves are breathtaking—a true natural wonder. As we descended into the cool depths, we were in awe of the stunning formations and the sheer size of the underground rooms. The guided tour was excellent, providing fascinating insights into the history and geology of the caverns. Our guide was not only informative but also engaging, making the experience enjoyable for everyone, including our 2 year old.One of the highlights was the beautiful underground waterfall, which was a sight to behold. The sound of the water echoing through the caverns added to the magical atmosphere. We also appreciated the well-maintained paths and the safety measures in place, which allowed us to fully enjoy the experience without any worries.Tuckaleechee Caverns is a must-visit destination for anyone in the area. Whether you’re a nature enthusiast, a history buff, or just looking for a unique adventure, this place has something for everyone. We left with memories that we’ll cherish forever and highly recommend it to anyone looking for an unforgettable experience. We can’t wait to return!

Loved our guide named Travis. He was a nurse who had such a love for the caverns he did tours on his days off. We learned the truth about the caverns on our trip. The Cherokee didn't find them! Two small kids did in the 50's! Who would have thought? Anyhow! It is awesome. So much information it took my brain two days to process how absolutely beautiful and amazing they are ❤️ I wish I owned a cavern!

One of the best cave experiences we’ve had! The tour was right at an hour and a half long. We didn’t have to wait long to get in, they have several guides going at a time. Our group was fairly large, but we never had trouble hearing our awesome guide (we were at the front most of the time, but even when in the back we could hear her. The cave had some gigantic rooms and neat features. The cave does have quite a few stairs, so definitely something to be prepared for. I would also recommend making sure you are wearing good shoes, it gets slippery at times. Temp was 58 degrees, we were fine in hoodies and shorts.

If you have never seen the inside of the earth… it’s breathtaking. Parts are absolutely majestic. The signs says if you can’t walk down 87 , you can’t get back up 87. Bank on it. It’s worth it though. Pictures cannot possible do this one justice. Not a bad price to enter either.

Beautiful sights and amazing to see a part of our earth we don’t see often. We loved it! Lizzie was our tour guide and she was phenomenal. The walk was not too intense. The stairs were very steep, but definitely manageable. Once you get past the first half, it’s easy from there. Definitely recommend.
Jennifer A — Google review
Definitely worth a visit! Guided tour was very informative. The walk is not strenuous but there are quite a few steps on the first half of the tour. The second half is very flat and easy. You do have to walk up the same steep steps you walked down to start the tour. Temperature was good. No jacket or long pants required unless you just want to have them along. The geologic formations are just incredible. The underground river is beautiful. Children would love this. So educational. Pictures don’t do it justice. Highly recommend.

Loved it! Took my husband who is 6ft 7in and he had to duck some lol. My kids 8 and 3 had alot of fun. Lots of stairs so we stayed in the very back and I couldn't hear our tour guide, but he was super nice and patient with my 3 year old going slow.

HUGE amazing cave! Have only been to another in Kentucky (diamond) which was cool, but I was totally blown away by the size and expanse of these caverns! Incredible. and of course the running water added beauty. One room was the size of a football field. I’m thinking if it was my first cave, it might make the others seem unimpressive. But I’m sure they’re all cool and unique in their own right. Tour took 2-3 hours in all, enjoyed the gift shop also. Loved that it was rediscovered by a couple of boys a hundred years ago, whose relatives still keep things running.

I’ve been to the caverns twice now. Both time I had Ivan as my tour guide. Both times he has been super friendly not only to me and my family; but to every person in the group. He gave amazing information and taught everyone many new things people typically don’t know including me.Now to the cave, the actual cave was amazing. very beautiful inside and a lot of interesting things amongst the cave as well.overall, the small family owned business is such an enjoyment to go and see. everyone was super friendly and gave great information. thank you to everyone there who maintained a positive attitude and made my time at the cave unforgettable!!

We had a wonderful time. It is not sites you see every day. Our tour guide Ore was funny and very knowledgeable on the history and the cave features. He engaged the whole group. From the youngest to the oldest. We will definitely go again.

This was an absolute hit for our family. Kids 8 and 11 loved it just as much as we did. I have issues with claustrophobia and had ZERO issues, everything is nice and open and easy to manage. The running water and cool air was just enough to make it feel like you weren’t 600ft underground - would 100% do this tour over again. Our guide was great, I believe her name was Abby? She pointed out everything in detail and explained it all in an easy way for the kids to understand.

Did this tour with 8yo and 5yo. You have a few stairs you have to go up and down but it isn’t bad. Kids really liked the underground world this place is.Orey was our tour guide. He is very talkative and full of humor. Made everybody laugh and smile while on this tour. Bring cash and tip this fella. He is good at what he does.

Great to do on a hot day!! You go deep into a cavern and the temperature drops to a comfortable atmosphere. My 3 year old did well, even w the stairs. They do a pitch black segment which I really enjoyed. They give a little bit of history, apparently this was all underwater at some point bc they found water creature fossils, as well as mastodon fossils (very cool!!)

Went with 4 kids from 7 month old to 11. Cool temps inside and would recommend a light sweatshirt for kids or older adults went as a party of 8 with oldest being 67. Some low passages at about 4 foot tall. Amazing views inside. 410 stairs total some of which were steep. Not suitable for a child's stroller. Best to use a baby carrier for this adventure(able to use both railings this way).shoes would definitely be best. I would definitely return back again.

Nature & Wildlife Tours
Lost Sea Adventure is a cave tour and boat trip attraction that offers visitors an underground lake to explore. The cave network is well-maintained and the guides are knowledgeable about the formations, making for an interesting experience. The walk up is not too bad and the tour offers stops for breathers, which makes it more comfortable for those who are not used to walking long distances. The boat ride is also very cool and something not often seen in tourist attractions.
Lovely cave and boat experience. Clean facility and great guides. It didn't feel as over commercialized as Ruby Falls, so that was a nice touch. Loved the addition of artists like the glass blower and the gem panning as well.

Wow, what an awesome place, and it's definitely a must stop, and see. We love looking at cave formations, and this one had some nice ones. Of course, the most amazing part is the underground lake and the fact that they take you on a boat ride on the lake. There is even rainbow trout in the lake that the guides feed so you can see them up close. There is quite an incline to get to and from the lake, and we really appreciated the benches to stop and rest a bit on the way back up. Thanks to our guide, Spike, for a great tour and boat ride.
Teresa P — Google review
Cool place, the tour last for about 1hr. I love the part where the tour guide (cant remember his name sorry) turn the lights off and we're in complete darkness!! Lots off history. Fishes in the lake are cool too. Glass shop was cool too.

Lost Sea Adventure was amazing experience to be had. It is well worth the drive. It was nice seeing the different crystals forming. The history was amazing to see. The boat ride was fun. You learned allot and saw some amazing sights.Side note: It is very fun going down. It is a challenge climb coming up.
William S — Google review
This was an interesting tour of the cave. Guide was very knowledgeable & fun. I do highly suggest that if you have knee problems or even asthma, you may want to bring knee braces & inhalers. The walk down isn't too bad, but the walk up will definitely make you feel out of breath & very sore in the knees. We had to stop 4 times on the way up for people to catch up, catch their breath, & sit for a few.
Charity H — Google review
Cool cave, neat taking a boat ride on North America's largest underground lake. Our guide, Spike, was pretty cool and knowledgeable about the history of the cave. My only complaint, and it probably won't bother most people, is that I didn't like the size of the tour groups, I think they are too big. Other than that it was a great time, enjoyed going into the glass blowing shop, the general store, and seeing the old blacksmith shop that is also on the property.
David R — Google review
The staff was amazing on this tour. We had a larger group making it difficult to hear or see things being pointed out when near the back. There were lots of stories on the history of the cave mixed with humor, which we really enjoyed. The boat ride is short, mostly to see their pet fish but the kids enjoyed it. The climb back up is steep but they take breaks and ensure everyone is ready to proceed to the next stop. We enjoyed our time here but there are many living crystals to see within the cave.
Monet O — Google review
Our family loved the caves and the boat tour. Very well maintained, we enjoyed learning about the history of how the place was found. Our tour guide spoke so fast, I really thought I was at an auction, but other than that, she did a good job. Highly recommend buying tickets in advance. Bathroom was clean. Free parking.

Loved it, very nice place, the tour tries to stay within an hour. It is a bit of walk, Miracle was a nice, sweet and understanding she would tell you about the history and have fun jokes to keep you on your toes. It was a fun experience. The lost sea was beautiful to see!
Sheena M — Google review
My family really enjoyed our visit here. It's beautiful and the guides make it really fun. The hike down and back up is not as bad as they make it out to be. The temperatures in the caverns are nice and cool. The boat ride is short but sweet. We liked singing the fish in there. Give them a shot if you're in the area.
Dennis R — Google review
Absolutely stunning views but know that it is a steep walk down and walking back up is hard if you have mobility issues. There are resting benches along the way back. One of my favorite parts was the section that they turned off the lights for us to experience total darkness. You couldn't see anything!!! Also, I adored the boat ride on the underground sea!
Emily F — Google review
It was so much fun!! Skyler the tour guide was really funny but also educational. It was fun for all ages, and the boat ride was so cool!! The fish were jumping and the water was crystal clear. It lasted about 1.5 hours and there was a lot of walking but the tour guide made sure it was manageable for all fitness levels
Ari G — Google review
We had a great time today at The Lost Sea Adventure! Our tour guide on the way down was Eli, and on the way up we had Miracle. They were both very knowledgeable about the cave history and all of the different types of cave formations. The inside of the caves were fascinating and the pictures don't do justice to the striking shades of red. The boat ride was short but enjoyable, and the guide feeds the rainbow trout while they follow the boat.Afterwards we visited the little village. Our favorite attraction was the glass shop! You can also see a preserved blacksmith shop, wishing well, general store, and sweet shop.Other things to know: This is probably not a great idea for small children. There were a couple in our group and they cried the entire time. (Dark caves and steep inclines are probably not great for toddlers, and 90 minutes of crying is not great for anyone else.) Older children not afraid of the dark should be fine. Restrooms are available on site. Hiking gear is not needed; sneakers are fine. It is about 60 degrees in the cave, so bring a light jacket if you get cold easily. The walk back up is pretty steep, but there are 3 rest stops incorporated into the walk back. Also, bring cash for tips for your guides.
Amanda M — Google review
A wonderful experience! I have visited a number of caves over the years, and this tour is right up near the top of my experiences. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable. There's a fair amount of history associated with this cave, and she went through it thoroughly. The tour itself is basically a 20 to 30 minute walk downhill to the bottom of the cave where you board one of their boats for a 10 or 15 minute cruise on the lake. Just a note: the glass bottom boats are being phased out right now, and will be gone by the end of June 2024. They're being replaced with boats that provide a much better viewing experience of the inside of the cave during the boat tour. The walk back up to the entrance is easy enough if you are in reasonably good shape. If you have doubts about your fitness level, consider not doing the final descent from the last rest stop down to the boat ride. The last 100 yd is a steep incline and coming back up challenged some of the less fit individuals in our tour group. The experience itself is extremely reasonably, priced, and worth every penny. Lost Sea Adventure is highly recommended!

Had a wonderful visit and hike with Angela as our guide. It's breathtaking, educational and is overall a unique and exceptional experience. I've been in caves across the country but there is just something so wonderous about taking a boat ride on a lake beneath the earth.Would definetely recommend reading up on everything before visiting on the website. Be prepared for a hike, not a casual stroll. A few feet of the hike will be solid but expect most to be soft dirt. The boat ride is slow, quiet and lasts about 10 or so minutes but is worth the effort to get down and back up.If you can handle the physical aspects of the decent and ascent, I'd say you should experience it.

Absolutely breathtaking. Wonderful experience and really awesome place to visit. I recommend booking tickets in advance online and allotting yourself a 30 min period to use the restroom, visit the store, etc before starting the tour. Make sure to visit the area with the glass lower, blacksmith and ice cream shop across from the main access building.
Lauren R — Google review
This is quite an amazing place. The inside is beautiful. The underground lake was stunning. The fish are neat as well. The only downfall I have would be that the hike back up is steep. For older folks or people who have trouble walking, it can be difficult. The tour guide moved rather quickly and did not give enough time for people to enjoy the cave and its beauty. But she was very friendly and informative.

It's absolutely phenomenal. We have been to many caverns and are from Texas. This was our last adventure before heading home, and it was a great end to our TN trip. The temp was cool and comfortable, the walk was not too steep, the views were absolutely stunning, our guide Eli was very informative and NOT at all monotone. He really seemed to love sharing the Sea with us and handled our kids and my own 100 questions without a single studdar. The cute little village was nice to walk through afterward, my only suggestion would be to add another set of restrooms. Also very affordable. $108 with taxes for 2 adults and 2 children under 12

My 8 year old nephew and I had a great time! The guide was super informative and patient with all of the kiddo's questions. The cavern was a fun little hike, and the lake was so cool!! Afterward, we checked out the gift shop and general store, made some wishes in the wishing wells, and mined for some amazing stones. We'll definitely be back!!

I visited last August and had a great experience. Our tour guide was great. It was an great experience for both kids and adults. With interesting views and history. I would recommend jackets to those who can't withstand 60 degree temperatures because the cave is that cold in summer.

Fort Loudoun State Historic Park
State park
Nature & Parks
The well-maintained Fort Loudoun State Historic Park is a replica of an 18th century British fort and offers trails for hiking, kayaking, and canoeing. The museum contains exhibits on the history of the fort and artefacts from its days as a military outpost. There is also a short video which is worth watching. The staff are friendly and informative.
I have been to Fort Loudoun twice in my life. Once as a young boy I went and had the displeasure of getting caught in the rain and getting quite ill. The second time, is my recent visit with my daughter. We had a fantastic time and enjoyed playing in the sunshine. We explored the Fort and museum soaking in the history of this area. My daughter most enjoyed the museum tent display and all of the different types of cannons that are in the park. The walking is gentle and easy and most areas are stroller accessible which means that with someone pushing them wheelchair bound individuals could visit the Fort and grounds. The historical film is educational but also a little sad just to warn potential viewers. Overall a great place to spend time. Plan to visit again soon.

We had so much fun as a family at Fort Loudoun Park. They often do reenactments at the park that make for a great history lesson. One down side is I did not see a playground near where we were at, but the kids still had fun ☺️

Was a fun little outing for the family. We showed our daughter the old buildings people used to sleep and work in. Would love to see it in spring or fall.

A throwback in time. When we visited, people were camping on the peninsula reenacting 1700s. They were burning fires and actually living inside the fort dressed time appropriate. (Red coats live) like something out of movie.Loved it! An interesting place to visit. Woodworking activity for kids is great.Nice park!I enjoyed checking out the houses.

We really enjoyed visiting. The grounds are open to explore. The visitor center has a lot of educational history and artifacts. There are trails to walk and explore. Picnic tables and benches. I wish we had more time to explore that day. We will definitely be visiting again. The restrooms are in the visitor center, and the visitor center closes at 4:30 pm. Donations are encouraged, and it is definitely worth it to keep up this nice place.

I was expecting the buildings to actually be from the 1700s. But they were rather historically accurate replicas. Still cool, but not as cool as if they had been original. The museum (Visitor Center) was closed when we arrived, so we didn't get to see that part of the Park. But we did get to experience some of the walking trails. They were very nice, and a pleasure to walk on!Overall, it was a good experience. I recommend it to anyone, local or tourist, who enjoys history. I certainly enjoyed it!

Loved this state park. It was a living history weekend with folks dressed in period clothing, shooting the canon, and explaining things. Highly recommend this great park. Was the Western most outpost of the British in the 1750's

This is a great historical state park. I forgot the scale of the British influence in the back country of the young U.S. The French and Indian War, Native Americans, trading, and war. Although the site was rebuilt, the details are great and what is really nice is examples of how the place may have been furnished with barracks bunks, barrels for food, blacksmith and many other buildings full of stuff. Also, there was a ton of trillium flowers blooming. It was a little to early for the may apples

Interesting Colonial fort that was rebuilt during the New Deal! Beautiful area to picnic and kayak. Small, well-done visitor center and museum with friendly, knowledgeable staff. Also close to Sequoyah’s birthplace (a separate museum).

This dog friendly historical fort is the very best I've ever visited in my life, and my father, a history teacher, dragged me to A LOT of forts in my lifetime. The geography is stunning, the fort itself is beautifully rebuilt according to historical details. You can walk into each building, and get a feel for the quarters and facilities. The interior of the buildings is immaculate and sturdy. All structures are well maintained, the grounds are clean, and the views are gorgeous. Dogs are welcomed and accommodated. The museum is unique, intriguing and features a beautiful collection of artwork and artifacts. The rangers are educative, outgoing, personable, and happily answer any questions. They even let you bring a leashed dog into the museum! I am so thankful for such a lovely interactive experience that my children and dog could enjoy!

Smokies Stadium is a stadium that is located in Knoxville, Tennessee. It was built in 1992 and has a natural stone exterior with brick accents. The stadium offers modern amenities such as concessions and restrooms, while also having an old-school atmosphere with fans wearing their team's colors. In terms of seating, the stadium has a capacity of 8,500 people.
Lovely stadium, filled with great people. The views of the trees on the mountain behind the outfield are something you won't see anywhere else. Concessions are top notch and the prices were reasonable. I hope I get to come back!

Older stadium but still seemed to be in good condition. Although there were signs they are starting to wind down some maintenance given this is their final season. Game experience was good, nice show. Food choices were adequate but not spectacular. I will give them kudos for having dedicated motorcycle parking.

It’s really a shame that this is moving back to downtown Knoxville. Smokies stadium is a great place to hang out with family, friends, colleagues. Prices are very reasonable and the food always satisfies. Ticket prices are also reasonable. There is a section for families where no alcohol is allowed. There is a kids play area. Parking is $5 and is close to the stadium. All around great value and fun time.

Sad that it was their last home game in this stadium in Sevierville.Beautiful afternoon for a baseball game. Lots of fun games throughout the innings for the kiddos. Lots of memories being broadcast over the loud speakers throughout the games. Free parking which can't be beat.Hope the new stadium goes up swiftly and makes a nice new home for the team. Restrooms were clean, and fans were respectful during the game.

Visited for the first time today and had a great time! The staff we encountered were all very nice and friendly. The merchandise store was large with a lot of options to choose from! They had good food options too. We tried a caramel apple funnel cake and it was delicious! They had a lot of fun on field games for kids too. Our only complaint is that we didn’t see that mascot at all. Overall, we had a great time and hope they continue this greatness in their new stadium next season!

Very nice minor league stadium with plenty of parking. Although we sat in the fifth row, there isn’t a bad seat in the house. It is a shame the Smokies are moving back to downtown Knoxville. This stadium is barely twenty years old and wjll become largely unused. Further, this stadium is very convenient to vacationers to the Smokies - the downtown location will not be.

First time we have gone to a baseball game in probably about 10 years went was family it was their first time as a family we all had a great time. minor league parks typically are great because of all the child-centered activities they have including the mascots and games for the kids and this did not disappoint it really was a great experience for all of us

Lovely stadium, pretty much all good seats. Can be a bit warm if you are in the lower deck in full sun. Reasonable beer prices, food okay too. Final year in Kodak, do check it out if you haven't yet. Big parking lot, easy access. Downtown Knoxville will be more parking challenged.

But DO NOT GET GENERAL ADMISSION TICKETS!!!!! they don't allow chair or blankets and make u sit in grass.....They lure u in with the promise of a bluey themed game and events and they was nothing but a huge line in the back of the stadium where u couldn't even see the game...It was a scamTerrible experience..This was suppose to be a family game... everyone was drunk....Unfortunately drove a long way to see this game..........Not coming back

Love this place. Seeing it move to Knoxville is a shame. Over 2000 people interviewed and not a soul agrees with the move other than our governor. Smokies stands for Sevier county, not old city Knoxville and view of an old weigels on the hill. This is a freaking joke.

While traveling the country I stop at MiLB stadiums to buy 5950 hats. While traveling through East Tennessee I stopped at the Smokies stadium. 2 hours before I called and spoke to Jacob in the team office who assured me they were open for me to come buy a hat as it was a game day. Upon arrival I was not allowed in the team store without a ticket to the game. This is not the case at every other MiLB stadium I’ve been to. Of the 30+ stadiums I’ve been to this was the worst experience. In Montgomery Alabama the team president opened the stadium and let me into their team store without anyone else in the stadium. In Biloxi Mississippi a team executive gave me a full tour of the stadium. In Dayton Ohio a staff member wasn’t allowed to let me in while the stadium was closed, so he took my debit card and went to the team store to grab my hat for me. That awesome hospitality which I expect at MiLB stadiums was not what I got in rural eastern Tennessee. Most MiLB teams are extremely community oriented. Not so in Kodak Tennessee. I was turned away at the team store, the will call window and by some gatekeeper at the team admin office. Things like this make me glad that my local team, the Aberdeen IronBirds, would never treat a fan like this. Especially someone who just wanted to spend some money in their team store.

Went to the stadium tonight to have dinner and watch a baseball game. Was greeted by a ride parking attendant. Got there just before gates opened and waited in line beside the large smelly dumpsters that had the gates hanging wide open. Dinner was good - staff covered more tables and seats at the bar than they could handle without delays. Got to our 'seats' in section 115 to find out there were "no seats". When we bought our tickets we asked for handicap-level due to my husband not being able to do steps and were told that we would have folding chairs for our seats-which we were all good with. We were told to ask the person in Guest Services for the chairs. When we talked with Guest Services supporting our area the man informed us that there were no folding chairs available and walked away. He was seen several times after that and was more interested in watching the game than doing his job. We left the game during the 5th inning because we could not continue to stand any longer. Very sad situation because the team plays well and the ballpark will not be here next year for us to enjoy. We had to miss the second half of the game and the fireworks. Very sad night.

Having only spent one night in Knoxville, I decided to make this one of the few places to check out. I have to say, the pictures don't do this place justice! It is absolutely stunning! The nature center is small, but they do have some cool exhibits. $5 gets you 12 hours of parking, which is reasonable. This place will get busy, even on a weekday morning, so try to come early if you can. It also gets muggy/humid in the summer and you will want to put on some bug spray. The best trails are going to be the river trail, which will give you the views with the boardwalk, and the keyhole loop. The keyhole will give you the views of the old quarry. You will also want to check out the pink marble and Tharp trace trails as these also give outstanding views.

Fun nature center. We only did the riverwalk/tower hike, but there are many more trails to explore. Also you can rent a variety of boats to use on the river. Friendly/helpful staff. Please note: trails are not well marked, so just keep google maps open/active to make sure you are going the right way.

Great place to visit… plenty of hiking trails… you can rent mountian bikes, kayaks, stand up paddle boards… the quarry is a great place to enjoy the water! Make sure to explore all the different parts of the area!

8.30.23 Parking is free. Exploring the nature center is free. Walking the river boardwalk is free. Renting a SUP paddleboard is $15 and a float/tube is $5 in the Quarry area. This is a beautiful and peaceful place. If you love nature or want a place to relax, this is your spot.

Date of visit: Sunday, 06/16/2024Use Google Maps to locate.Parking was paid via QR code. No trouble finding parking.Nice nature center with lots of trails for exploring. We hiked the Tower Trail which leads to the River Trail and back to the center, in total about a 1 mile hike. There are some steep spots on this trail, including some steep stairs. Once you get to the river, it is beautiful.Nature Center building has some exhibits as well as a gift shop. It looks like there might also be meeting rooms. They have a calendar full of fun activities. We got to enjoy some bluegrass music in the afternoon.Restroom was clean.Definitely recommend, especially if you like to hike.If you deem this review helpful please give it a 👍.

Spending a few days in Knoxville for the first time and ijams was probably one of the most recommended activities. It did not disappoint. SO many trails. Very nice views of the Tennessee River and Mead Quarry Lake. Multiple places to put in boats. Some cool animal exhibits at the visitor center. People were very helpful in advising which trails to take. Definitely check it out if you're looking for an outdoor activity in the Knoxville area.

This very beautiful place is going to make your visit more memorable with the friendliness and genuine serving attitude of the staffs. They are really suitable for this job. The lady I met in the information table was consistently helpful and friendly as I have seen her talk to several new visitors including ofcourse myself.Huge place but properly maintained. There are various parts of this big land so make sure you plan your way. A certain portion was closed when I went due to the falling rocks from the mountain whose video even went viral as some people were able to witness it live.Bathroom and filtered water available at the Visitor’s Center and even a free wifi

Being new to Knox, this place is beautiful. FIDO friendly, lots to do for all ages. Great hiking or just perfect is you want to walk around and look at all of the beautiful animals, sitting areas or if you want adventure, you can visit the zip line. Beautiful walkway around the water. This is a must see if you are in the Knox area.

Ijams is a wonderful space that's free to visit located right on the border of Knoxville. All I did during my visit was walk the river trail and added a few of the shorter trails on as I wandered around the grounds. There's climbing, a canopy adventure area, kayak rentals, and children's activities. If you're just passing through like I was, this is somewhere I'd highly recommend even if it's just to stretch your legs. The grounds and trails are very well maintained and bathrooms were clean.

So many trails and we only went on a couple! The Keyhole was really cool and not too far from the parking area. The staff at the welcome center were very helpful and friendly too. Definitely worth a trip back to see more.

Was looking for a hike near knoxville so we didn't have to drive all the way down to the smokey mountains and this didn't disappoint! The attendant was superhelpful, the sights were incredible, and the trails we went on were well taken care of.

Definitely worth the visit if you are in Knoxville. For me, the river boardwalk trail is a unique element. You need to hike a trail down hill to get to the boardwalk, and it's worth it. Admission is free, but there is a charge for parking ($5). There are other trails around the main office. For me, the scenery around the quarry was not as appealing, but I hear there are several trails around the quarry (which I did not walk) that are nice. There are also boat activities on the quarry, which were not in operation when I visited (late March).

All-time favorite hiking location near downtown Knoxville! I’ve been coming here for years, just exploring around, and continue to be amazed each time. I highly recommend going to the Nature Center to pick up a map first, as there’s so much to see. Each trail has an incredibly cool feature on it, and some trails took me years to find. Some are paved or have gravel, while others are full-on hikes. There are two locations to park at - the nature center, which has most of the shorter hikes, most with pavement or gravel, plus high ropes course (the Navitat). Or at the quarry down the road on the opposite side, which has the quarry/water, longer hikes, two hidden quarries behind the main one, mountain biking, natural rock climbing, etc. They just recently started charging for parking, but only a couple of bucks. Very dog and family friendly!

Went bike riding. Rented bikes from the park and helmets. The trail starts in the middle so you can take one and come back then take the other and come back. Has some nice hills to go down but riding back up is tough. Trails are concrete and shared with walkers. Be sure to yell which side you are coming up on the walker so they can move over. Beautiful ride. Great exercise. Have fun. Went on a Sunday. Get there before lunch and their were maybe 8 bikes for rent. When we got back from our ride, they were all out. You have to pay for parking. It's like $12-$15 for the whole day.

What a gem this place is. We finished visiting the Knoxville Botanical gardens quicker than expected. I had this marked on the map and took a chance. This was a highlight of our trip. Definitely take the Riverwalk / board walk. the amount of spring flowers in bloom was amazing, trilliums covered the hillsides. The river walk had a feature we've never seen before, a geologic fold. that was an amazing thing to see first hand. If we lived nearby, we would definitely be checking out all the many trails.

The Knoxville Zoo is a great place to visit for families with kids, as it offers educational experiences and plenty of activities to keep everyone entertained. From camel rides and carousels to splash pads and even a family petting zoo, there's something for everyone at this zoo.
It was a wonderful day with my son, their Uncle Wesley, and 2 & 3 yr old granddaughters. Their parents were on a BD and Anniversary get away. It was miserably hot so the misters were nice to walk through. All the animals were out and we seen them all but the Bears. We actually noticed how Healthy all the animals looked too. We are so very proud of Knoxville Zoo. The moving and roaring Dino's throughout was exciting. I wish we had known more about the Dino Eggs while we were actually there. But my 3 yr old found them anyway. The old Safari Jeep was a perfect idea for kids to play in. It was truly a wonderful day to spend with my grown son and our little ones.

I live about 45 minutes away from Knoxville and yearly we get memberships to the zoo. I highly recommend doing so if you live in the area! The zoo is smaller than many zoos, but still has a lot to do and see for kids of all ages. They’ve recently renovated their habitat for reptiles and it looks great! They host seasonal events and activities (Boo at the Zoo, dinosaur takeover, etc.). The splash pad is great, the petting zoo and play area are cute, and the food at the restaurants are (expectedly) overpriced, but good quality. They do well in their maintenance and cleanliness and it seems like the animals are well cared for.

We enjoyed our time here. However I found there to be mixed information on the encounters. Which are free and anyone can join so that's awesome. I wanted to do the sloth encounter so we got over to that area quickly and waited and eventually I asked a staff member and she said that they only do encounters on the weekends now.... which doesn't make sense if there's a schedule and you say you're gonna be able to do this. I understand not disturbing the animals so if it's not a good day that's one thing. But to just say oh yeah no we don't do them anymore during the week. Something should be advertised and they probably should also have a sign like wait here for your encounter guide or something. But we did stop back by the otters and guess what! They did that encounter! We got to watch them eat and learn about their personalities. So that was really cool.

Had a great time at Knoxville zoo today. We took advantage of BoA museum on us to get free tickets for every cardholder. Not too crowded, and kids played at splash pad. Loved there. It was fun to watch zoo keeper feeding bat fox with worms.

Its was a pleasant experience, we went to see the red panda they were adorable. It was noon by the time we got there and it was about 90 degrees so most of the animals were hiding or in their enclosures. But still was a wonderful day. Very kid friendly. Dinosaurs are very nice. Peeps Im 30 some and I was having a blast.

The Knoxville Zoo is a great place to spend the morning before the day gets too hot. Even when the animals are too hot, you can still see them indoors as these spaces have glassed viewing areas. My daughter and I spent around 2 1/2 hours viewing the animals and reading about the various conservation programs such as the Red Panda Preservation. Surprisingly, the Dinosaurs at Dawn exhibit was also a favorite and we were impressed by their animatronics. Parking was free and easy. The other visitors seemed to be local parents/grandparents with small children.

I went for the first time over this past weekend with my children who have previously been. I enjoyed myself as did the kids but we didn't get to see all of the animals with it being so busy, but we made the best of it. My favorite part was probably feeding the turtles, they were very cute and took the leaves so gently. We ate at the beatro which was good but pricey. It was a hot day and the mist fans were great. I'd definitely go again!

So we went today to take my kids to the Zoo bought the whole membership for the entire family which was reasonable priced but as a kid I can remember this being one of the most exciting things we got to do each year. But to my disappointment it's definitely not at all what it used to be. So there's not at all a lot of real animals to see but there's a lot of fake motorized ones😞 I remember being able to ride the Elephants and the Camels and seeing the Rhinos up close and personal but we literally all in all saw about a dozen real animals. And although the membership wasn't a bad price and it's good for a year the prices of drinks and food is beyond ridiculous I mean $4.59 for a Gatorade come on or $5 dollars for an ice cream sandwich not to mention $3.89 for bottled water. Just crazy!!!! It was fun for the younger kids but my 13 year old said it was kinda boring lol... They need to bring back the zoo I remember.... Please

We love coming to the zoo. We first started our excursions because we were socializing our Service Dog and what better place to introduce distractions? The animals all loved our dog and made the trips more exciting. Now we enjoy coming with family, in particular our little niece and nephews. Well worth the price and time spent. Members get food and gift shop discounts, so that's a plus too!

We had a great time at the Zoo Knoxville. We went with three kids under 5 and three adults on a weekday morning. We did not have a wait to get tickets or enter the zoo. The zoo is very well laid out with easy to navigate paths and signs, with bathrooms / changing rooms always close by. There was something for everyone in our group with fun exhibits and explanations for all the fun and unique animals. We brought in our wagon and alternated from pushing our kids or letting them run along the paths to the next exhibit. The zoo has a variety of animals in exciting enclosures, a petting zoo, splash pads (not open when we went), a kids playground, and lots of photo opportunities. There are many food stands, restaurants with indoor and outdoor eating areas, however many of them were not open when we were visiting. The other unique set of displays in this zoo is their dinosaur exhibits where there are large robotic dinosaurs that move and make noise. My kids really loved those!Overall the zoo took us about 2 hours to complete, which was the perfect time for short - attention spans and we ended right before lunch. I would definitely go again to explore the splash pad and playground areas as well as to see the well cared for animals again.

This was my first visit to the Knoxville Zoo, and I have to say that I was expecting a much better experience than the one I received. I'll start with the low points:The animals seemed...sad. Most of them were sleeping or hiding. So, you don't get to see half of the animals that are advertised. And the ones that you do see (for the most part) seem exhausted and miserable. The glare on some of the exhibits make it nearly impossible to see in when the sun is out. Accessibility appears to be limited in some areas of the Zoo. Lastly, the gift shop isn't even worth visiting in my opinion, there's hardly anything related to the zoo itself. My favorite and what I consider the best part of the zoo was the amphibian and reptiles exhibit. But beware, it can get very hot in there due to the humidity and crowding. So, I would avoid it if you have breathing issues. I really enjoyed it though. They have some cool snakes, lizards, turtles, and frogs. Plus that's where their sloth is located! Loved him. Would have totally stolen him if he wasn't so high up. The Gorillas are also amazing. I could have stood and watched them for hours. They have so much personality. That's about all I have to say.

We were very disappointed in this zoo.Animal enclosures were smaller than most zoos.Giraffes were walking on mostly hard service.Saw several animals that looked sad and needed medical attention. The animals were right up against the interstate with loud semis and motorcycles whizzing by.You could still hear the highway all over the zoo!My wife was so upset about the conditions that we left early about halfway through. They mowing crew was there with their loud zero turn mowers, weedeaters, and blowers going all over the place. The animals were not liking that, and we didn't either.People had to walk through the guys with the loud smokey weedeaters and blowers. The zoo closes at 4pm every day.Maybe they mow after hours?Maybe different landscaping that doesn't need mowed?Bad experience. We won't be coming back here to Knoxville.Zoo is located in a terrible neighborhood surrounded by police cars and guards!Maybe we are just use to other nice, big zoos like Indianapolis and Cincinnati, Tampa, and LA...

Went to the Knoxville zoo today with my kids. We went up to get our tickets and the girl charged me for my two year old who should have been free. After I corrected that she also charged $5.00 for parking. The lot was so full we had to park over by Muse and we still got charged for parking. So for four of us we paid $80.85. That's kind of steep for a zoo this size. Once inside we realized many of the animals were not outside. Many enclosures had nothing to view and several people were commenting on it. Also couldn't help but notice lots of the concessions stands were closed as well. It's spring break and it was very crowded. My kids rode the train and the merry go round and both were an additional $4 per kid per ride. They did however enjoy both. What animals we were able to see my kids enjoyed. They also loved the dinosaur a lot. The petting zoo was a favorite of the kids as well. I gave three stars because my kids did enjoy the experience. My girl and I were somewhat disappointed and probably had a two star experience. They need more animals and more viewing opportunities for the animals they do have. The kids were entertained and I guess that's all that counts. Being forced to exit through the gift shop with kids felt like a final cash grab. Water for $3.50 in the vending machine with all the water fountains off was frustrating. I would reluctantly recommend a visit but not really enthusiastically. We wished we had a better time but we're just being honest.

We were in the area for a family reunion so it was a last minute decision to go but so glad we did. Hard finding zoo's that are fun and exciting for kids the older they get. But the Knoxville zoo was amazing! I would recommend if your in the area or passing through to stop and go. There were dinosaurs and the grandkids loved them as they moved and made noises there was even information about each one.

My husband and I went for my birthday on 6/18. It was hot and slightly crowded. I enjoyed the animals until I reached the Gorilla's, and boy did that big guy tug at my heart strings. He looked so bored or sad. I'm guessing because it was hot, they couldn't go outside. idk, but his actions made me cry. 🥺 I still recommend this place, especially for small kids.

Animals are well fed. Installations are nice. It only needs more clarity in the directions inside the park. Several times we have to ask for help from the Zoo staff to find out where we were. Nice place to visit.

My wife and I visited here on August 15, 2024 while on a two-day stopover in the Knoxville area during a month-long camping trip. It's really a beautiful and well-laid out zoo, but sadly, and the only reason I don't rate it as 5 stars, is because it's located right beside Interstate 40. The constant noise of semi-trucks whizzing by at 75 mph is certainly not good for the park's "wilderness" ambience, nor for the animal's mental health. Other than that, everything else about the zoo was great. Everything was clean, the staff were all super friendly and professional, and they have some very nice endangered animals under their care, many of who are involved in genetic diversity breeding programs aimed at preventing species extinction. Their red panda and lowland gorilla programs are world-class entities. Parking is free, but the parking lot is very long and narrow. We got there late in the morning on a busy Thursday, so I had to drop my wife off at the entrance, then drive back out to the far end of the lot to find an open space, which was about a quarter mile walk back to the entrance on a hot and humid day.

The American Museum of Science and Energy in Oak Ridge, Tennessee is an educational institution that offers interactive displays focusing on energy, particularly nuclear power. As a Smithsonian affiliate, the museum provides an engaging way for visitors to delve into the city's unique history and explore the innovative advancements achieved over the past 75 years. The museum features interesting exhibits and also offers bus tours of historic Manhattan Project sites such as the X-10 Graphite Reactor.
We had a great time! The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly and the exhibits were fun & exciting. It took around 2-2.5 hours to get all the way through it. Great place!

I never had the chance to visit the museum in its previous location, however I can reinforce previous reviews that say this museum is very small. It's also hard to tell what age group this museum is catering to. The front half of the museum is very wordy, mature, and packed with information. The back half features many interactive displays obviously geared towards children. It seems like it would make more sense to have more interactive, kid-friendly displays throughout, rather than packed in the back of the museum. The staff at the museum seemed very friendly and knowledgeable, with some members being long-term residents and/or employees in Oak Ridge with firsthand experience related to the exhibits in the museum. One staff member approached us multiple times to share anecdotes relating to Oak Ridge, which was nice and unexpected!Overall, I liked the musuem. However, it was small and didn't have as many artifacts and relics as I had hoped. Unfortunately there were a lot of exhibits that only had paragraphs on the wall to read and didn't include the physical objects that really catch your eye and hold your interest. If you're looking for a museum exclusively relating to Oak Ridge or the Manhattan Project, I think the K-25 History Center down the road is slightly better, as it's roughly the same size and manages to pack more information and more artifacts into the museum. But if you're in the area and looking for things to do, it can't hurt to visit both as they both have their strengths and weaknesses!

Went for our first time today on the bus tour. What they presented was very interesting, however, not enough time at the stops to look around. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable, but a bit too demanding. Limiting our time at stops and bathroom breaks. He was just not very approachable What we did see was very interesting. I don’t know if I’d go again.

Super nice and clean little place. The activity areas were nice (although some things were broken). The portions about the history of Oak Ridge and the atom bomb were interesting, but honestly, nowhere near as good as the old museum. My kids missed seeing all of the bombs that used to be there. They would love to go back however.

Pretty awesome tour especially if you follow the history of the manhattan project as well as nuclear science overall. Everyone from the AMSE and the sites themselves are knowledgeable, personable and willing to listen and answer any and all questions. As former military career veteran, the “civilian” side as I know it was made more clear. Lots of “regular folk” doing their best and it is, to help maintain a strong America through military policy and within the medical and electrical sectors. You will not be disappointed.

I wish I had taken a pic of the periodic table of games. It was such a fun room! All the examples of 3D printed objects were neat to see too.Can you imagine keeping an entire city secret in today's connected society?!

Loved the video at the beginning of the museum that tells how the area was used and that a lot of women were employed to watch the equipment. Plus, they talk about the effect that the atomic bomb had on Japan and how it ended the war. They also as you make your way through the museum talk about how nuclear energy is used in today's world in ways that have nothing to do with bombs. Again, age limit on this I think would be 13+ just because it has a lot of reading and I think younger kids would be bored in fact someone had two young kids as we were finishing the museum who were already bored and yelling. This site sits in an odd place as it's in a shopping center. They do have plenty of parking and if you are planning on doing the K25 Museum on that same day hold onto you receipt show it at the next museum and admission will only be $5.

The American Museum of Science and Energy is a fantastic place that is just jam packed with information, displays, and interactive features throughout - all related to science and energy contributions that the Oak Ridge National Laboratory were instrumental in making. The amount of information will keep you there for a couple of hours, and there are some games and such in the back that could keep you there longer. It's relatively inexpensive and well worth the admission price. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. I'd highly recommend this museum.

We learned lots that we don’t know before and they make it kid friendly so they learned a lot and were asking questions. Learning about our history is important for the upcoming generation. They have STEM classes for kids, including homeschool science classes. Definitely plan to bring our kids back for future classes.

A neat and fun place to learn about nuclear energy and science. Several good hands on exhibit options. You won’t be bored and will learn and have fun at the same time. Fascinating and informative video worth viewing. Learn about nuclear submarines and neutron detectors, and have some fun with Archimedes Screws. Learn more about the Secret City and life during WWII.Exhibits are well laid out, and a lot of time and money was put into this museum and it shows. Gift shop has all sorts of interesting items for sale as well, most reasonably priced. Bring in a few quarters to play the pinball machine. See an entire Army Jeep completely made on a 3D printer (how did they even do that?) as well as a small car and an old robot. Such a unique mix of items that will keep you entertained as you explore the museum. Don’t let the fact that it is at the end of a mall fool you. This place is large and has something for everyone and very reasonably priced to enter. Even if passing through at least put this museum on your list.

Incredibly small, but the fee for entry isn't terrible at $10.00. You could absolutely see everything they have here in less than one hour. There are not a lot of actual relics, but they have a wide variety of 3D printed replicas of items of interest. Weekdays are full of school field trips so be prepared for a bit of noise if you visit during those times.

Had a great time and learned a lot of fascinating history. Our children had a great time too with the interactive exhibits and static electricity demonstrations in the auditorium. Lots of learning and laughs. Highly recommend for anyone interested in physics, science, engineering, national defense, and history.

This is a great place to visit! Be prepared to have several hours to spend there as there is so much you'll want to see and enjoy. My kids loved the peacocks roaming around! There's a lot of nice things in the shop as well. We definitely want to go back so we can eat in the restaurant and walk the grounds again.

Took 16 yr old and 13 yr old girls. They both enjoyed it and we averaged our stars. The food was over hyped. It was alright but nothing I would purchase again. Loved the animals but the tabby cat stole the show. I loved the Interesting artifacts.

Cannot say enough good things about this place. We attended the July 4th Anvil Shoot. So much fun! Lots of demonstrations by folk artists and historians. Great music; some anvils shot 30+ feet into their air; lots of great historical displays of the area. This was our first visit and will not be our last.

The Independence Day demonstrations and activities were informative and reminiscent of stories from my grandparents, who were born near the Appalachian mountains. It's a living museum, with livestock and gardens and bee's. I went for the Bee keeping demonstration, the folks cancelled, still enjoyed the day with a new neighbor.Look on the roof...

This place is beautiful and very well taken care of. You could literally spend hours and hours here reading and looking at all the history. I enjoyed our time here and the gift shop is nice and they have a lot to choose from.

I definitely underestimated how large this museum is. You can spend the better part of a day here if you wanted to. The museum has an easy to follow layout in which you follow a path to get to the next building on the list. Some buildings have extensive exhibits inside. This is a great place to reflect on what life used to be like.

One of the best kept secrets of TN. To tour this venue is to literally step back into a period of time when lanterns provided light and fireplaces were the single source of heat. The innovations of the pioneers are on display as cabins are trimmed with authentic pieces from the days of the settlers and carry an almost palettable sense for the history conveyed inside those walls. The gift shop is full of beautiful crafts and serves good food as well.

Look guys, I travel full time and there are a LOT of pioneer museums out in the world and there is a bit of romanticizing the poor aspect to the whole endeavor, BUT the Museum of Appalachia has a particularly good collection of buildings, including Mark Twain's childhood home, a 1800's log cabin used in the filming of a Daniel Boone show, a huge mill, and loads of cabins and barns. But I think the best part of the collection is in the very first building, the hall of fame. The original director of the museum collected so many great stories - almost too many to read in one visit. It really brings everything to life and makes the museum stand above the rest. There's also a small cafe that is very popular with the locals (go early!) and a really lovely gift shop with a lot of fun items, including a whole wall of jellies and fruit butters. Everyone there is super nice, and there are a few animals on property - some free-ranging chickens and peacocks, some goats, miniature horses, and sheep. There's a one-way path through the whole thing so you don't miss anything. My only complaint is that it's all a bit pricey. Lunch in the cafe of chicken and dressing plus two sides, a slice of good cornbread, and a slice of hummingbird cake was almost $18. (It comes out *very* fast, btw.) The museum itself is $20. (I was told by my hosts that museum admission was free with a meal, but if that was ever true, it's not anymore. Everyone seems to come just to eat.)

When I purchased my ticket I thought $18 sounded like a lot for a museum about Appalachia, but boy was I wrong! It was well worth the money. So much to see and do. The exhibits were fascinating, very well done. The walk around the grounds was very relaxing. It felt like I was walking back in time. The restaurant inside is worth the stop. The food is delicious, homemade served on real dishes. The prices are also very reasonable.

For anyone with any ties to Appalachia or interest in learning more about this region this is a stop anyone would enjoy. The number of buildings in this village is unreal & the amount of artifacts will have your eyes at times not knowing where to look next. The food at the restaurant you can also tell is made with love & is a place I'd highly recommend if you are there while it's open as well.

Fun and super interesting. Loaded with artifacts from all over. Leave enough time and if you are with kids, make stops to play some games on the grass to break up the time in the exhibits.

I had no idea this museum and Appalachian village existed. So worth the trip. So much to learn and read I am going to have to come back. Extremely well taken care of..... The grounds and the buildings! They keep the thermostat low in the winter so make sure and wear a good jacket and maybe a hat.

Well worth the admission! We enjoyed strolling the property and found the building displays filled with what would have been used in their natural habits very interesting. We visited during Heritage Days, and to our surprise, the grounds were filled with 1200 school kids and parents. At first, we thought, let's pass, then thought, let's go for a little while. Well, three hours later we left completely impressed by the lay of the land, the staff, and the volume of artifacts.

I wish we had visited sooner after being locals for the last 8 years but I am so glad we finally made it! This was one of, if not, THE best and most interesting museum in the Knoxville area. Even my 4 and 2 yo were interested for 2+ hours. The stories warmed our hearts, the artifacts were fantastic, and the gift shop/staff were so nice. Loved their shop kitties too. 10/10 for us!

My husband and I had an AMAZING time here! We stopped randomly on our way home from Pigeon Forge, and so glad we did! The staff were super friendly, and the grounds were beautiful. So many great animals & picture spots. Also stop by the gift shop for some lotions, soaps and lip balms from The Naked Bee especially the orange scent they are incredible!!! 💕

Good southern cooking. The exhibits are very interesting of local personages who had national and international impacts on politics, music, religion, business, culture. Not wheelchair accessible in most of the outdoor exhibits (gravel paths). Some paved paths to the first 9 of the 31 outdoor exhibits. Looks like a subdivision is being constructed next door which will diminish its rural character.
Tom H — Google review
There was real human history here. Real people's stories that brings it to real life. Amazing. Oh and the peacocks and hens roaming were fun to watch. LOVED the gift shop!
Glen V — Google review
We had a great time at this Smithsonian affiliate museum. Come prepared to spend 3+ hours if you want to see everything and especially if you want to grab a bite to eat in the restaurant. The maps given at the welcome center are helpful in getting around the grounds, and the exhibits are in numerical order along the foot paths. A few of the buildings house permanent exhibits, like the Appalachian Hall of Fame, which highlights different aspects of “old” Appalachian culture like daily life, cooking, music, community, and stories about people. The other buildings are historic ones that have been moved to the Museum of Appalachia, like the cabin of Mark Twain’s parents. There is a nice outdoor seating area near the welcome center with picnic tables and rocking chairs. Some chickens or peacocks might come by to say hi. The restaurant offered typical comfort food from the region like chicken and dumplings, pinto beans, etc. Overall the museum was incredibly informative and very well curated. One of the things I appreciated most was the level of detail put into the descriptions for each artifact displayed, which is not something you find at every museum.
Kati M — Google review
Amazing collection of American history! You could go every day for months and still not see everything! Plan to be here for a few hours taking in all of the artifacts and learning about all of the Appalachian people who have paved the way for us today. The craftsmanship of the buildings is incredible. There are many buildings to tour and some of them are currently being renovated and closed to the public but can be seen from the outside. The employees were very friendly and helpful and the food at the cafe was great.

This is a great resort with amazing cabins nestled in the woods. The check-in process is easy and if you arrive after hours, they leave you a small map at the lobby to get to your cabin. The cabin itself is beautiful and has all the amenities that you will want. They also provide fire wood if you want to lit one just outside the cabin. Overall a real good place for a long weekend getaway.

Such a fun experience to do Rainbow Mist tour with Sheltowee Trace Adventure Resort in Cumberland Falls State Resort Park. We drove from Louisville for this. The boat tour took around 20-30 minutes and we shared the boat with other people, there were 9 of us including the guide. And we stayed around to enjoy this beautiful park.

My daughter and I journeyed the 8 mile Cumberland River kayak trip in late August, and we loved it. We were taken to the put in location by the very friendly Drew. He made sure we knew where to end our trip and get to our car. This is a great company and the people I met felt like people from my small home town. It was a great day on the river. We had the entire river to ourselves without another soul in sight but conditions were perfect and relaxing. I highly recommend booking whatever it is you want to do in the area through this professional company. Good memories!

Great campground. GREAT location. The way the campground is set up is really neat. Even the "primitive" sites are so well located that they give you the privacy and feel of being out in the woods but they are so close to the main area that they also have the convenience of restrooms and all the campground activities and the Camp Store. We stayed on one of the electric/water tent sites and LOVED it. We had plenty of room and we were close to the playground which was great because I could watch our little girl and cook, read my book, or rest. We will definitely come back here again. Posting pictured of Cumberland Falls (picture of raft ride can be booked through campground), Dog Slaughter Falls a nearby trail, and the Riverboat ride (also booked through campground).

Beautiful trails. Clean cabin with comfortable beds. Dishwasher station, laundromat. Restaurant. Nice people that worked there. I recommend this place. It's very rustic. But it has everything. Cabins, RV parking and primitive camping in some beautiful areas. The hiking areas are stunning.

The Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Since we were there during the off season it was very very quiet. Our site was very near the bathhouse and lots of green space for the doggies. We only reserved for 1 night but liked it so much we asked to stay a second night. Our site had been reserved for that night but they called the other campers and asked if they wouldn't mind moving to the next site over so we wouldn't have to move. Like I said, very accommodating. We came here to see Cumberland Falls and it was fantastic.

This was a great campground and close to the Cumberland Falls. The campground is set up with kids in mind with all the campground activities and the Camp Store. We stayed on one of full hookup RV sites in a 40' RV and all was good. Check-in was a breeze and all the peeps we interacted with were friendly and nice. We would definitely come back again while traveling in the future.

We camped here for a week over a Moonbow weekend. Our campsite (201) was awesome and had the best view in the campground, IMO. The grounds are well kept, the amenities are great, including a well stocked camp store, large, clean showers and even a nice laundry facility. There are even a few short hiking/walking paths. The staff is incredibly helpful, and answered all our questions. We rented e-bikes and that was amazing. We had an issue with one bike and they drove out to where we were and resolved it immediately, and our rental was unaffected. The e-bike rental was a highlight of our trip. We took them on the route they recommended and explored all over the Daniel Boone National Forest area off the Forest Service Road. If you go out there, definitely go as far as the Bark Camp Trail, it was gorgeous. We also did a tubing trip, and the staff was super friendly and helpful, even when we were delayed because of road construction. The river itself where the tubing was located was not exactly the kind of river I’d want to tube on, it was SUPER slow, and there was a lot of trash in and around the river, plus it ran along a road the whole time. But that isn’t any fault of the resort, just something to be aware of. And while we didn’t stay in them, they have really cabins and even covered wagons! They all look really well kept from the outside. Can’t recommend this place enough!

I’ve got mixed reviews on this one. My husband and I did a tubing adventure down the Cumberland River in the morning. We enjoyed that. Please be aware though, that they hand you a tube and put you in the water and come back for you at the stopping point. No guide or supervision. In the evening, we did the moonbow mist ride at Cumberland Falls. I would suggest changing the name of that booking because I it’s a little misleading. I thought we were going to see the moonbow on a boat ride. I think it’s called moonbow mist ride because it’s only done on moonbow weekends. Also, when you book, it’s not stated anywhere that you are going to get wet. We ruined 2 pairs of shoes by walking through mud and dirty water to climb into an inflatable boat. Would not recommend this.

We stayed here on a pavilion site. The sites are way to close together. Our campfire was about 12 feet from their picnic table. and the fire was pointed in their direction. all the fires are in weird spots and people are all pointing their chairs towards each other instead of seeing the woods. Also our site was right near a road. Like 15 feet of woods and then road. It was really lame there were no real woods around the site. the bathhouse was okay, could be cleaner. Your can arrange for them to deliver ice and firewood to your site. We used the e-bikes which we had a blast on. I really recommend. we had them for 4 hours, we went down the road that has trails and got to see school house arch. the next day we went hiking on those trails. I recommend packing lunch and having a nice picnic. The dog slaughter falls were incredible. one of the prettiest places I’ve ever been. the hike was a bit rough at times, I would not take small children there. but we had the falls all to ourselves for a while on a slightly wet weekend day. we went tubing also. That was disappointing. The river is in town so there is the sound of the highway next to the river, there was a lot of debris like old tires on the bank. And the water was slow and a bit boring for most of it. we stayed pretty dry and we’re fully clothes as it wasn’t a hot day. But I’m sure on a hot day you could get more wet. also Cumberland falls was amazing and close by. All in all they offer alot of different experiences and have alot of options for lodging. I’d try a primitive site in the woods if you don’t like to stair and other people and their tents for your trip.

The grounds are well maintained and the bathrooms/showers cleaner than I expected. The staff is very friendly and the BEST part of the whole thing is they don't nickel and dime you for everything.MOST IMPORTANTLY (to me) The campsite, kayaking, food at the cafe, and items in the gift shop were also all reasonably priced instead of being extremely overpriced like SOME resorts trend towards.5/5 would come back if we ever find ourselves in the area.

We had an excellent experience with our tour guide Dale on the Arches and Waterfalls Tour. It was wonderful seeing these off-the-beaten-path locations. Dale was extremely patient shepherding two old ladies through the experience -- helping us on the harder parts of the hike, reassuring us that we should take as much time as we wanted at each stop. It was a great way to pack a lot of beautiful views into a limited amount of time. I highly recommend it!

Nature & Parks
Scenic park with a waterfall, hiking & gem mining, plus lodging, horseback riding & a fire tower.
Handicap accessible! A friend was complaining about the lack of availability of handicap accessible accommodations, pretty much everywhere. I showed her pictures of our cabin, and she was excited. Not perfect, but doorways wide enough, sinks you can roll up to in a wheelchair, and a bathroom large enough to turn around in.The hike to the falls from the cabin area is challenging but fun. Several other trails around that area were also pleasant. For the physically challenged, we were able to park near the falls, and it's an easy walk/wheelchair trip on paved roads to several nice overlooks.Breakfast was about what you get at nicer hotels, not perfect but adequate . The view from the dining room more than makes up for any disappointment. We've been twice, stayed in a cabin both times, found the staff and cabins quite nice. Much better than a hotel, in my opinion.Do some research and you'll find plenty to do nearby if the park isn't enough to entertain you. We've kayaked with Sheltowee Trace Adventures, ridden the South Big Fork Railroad, hiked at the Natural Bridge and several waterfalls much smaller than Cumberland, and found local shops and diners to round out the fun.

Cumberland Falls State Resort Park is an absolutely beautiful park - I wish I could have spent several days here. I went to this beautiful park , intending on going on a hike for a better view of the solar eclipse, but the weather wasn't making it possible ( Brief, Scattered rain showers would have made the hike a bit dangerous. ). We visited the gift shop, checked out the gems, had a few snacks. We took a mini hike down to the beach by the side of the river ( See my one photo { It's also on Viewbug - search for Viewbug on Google.} We wished we had brought lunch with us. ), and did a bit of exploring while we waited for the eclipse to happen. It was a fun day. I highly recommend Cumberland Falls State Resort Park for a day trip, and Yes, I discovered there are campsites and cottages for rent and activities to do there ( I will LIKELY plan a future trip for a camping trip there. 😁 ). I look forward to returning to this beautiful park.

We visited the area about a week after Hurricane Helen. The Falls were high and flowing fast. The overlook area has easy parking. There is a gift shop with reasonable prices and lots of local products for purchase. There are restrooms. Several overlook areas for photo opportunities. You are able to walk down the beach and wander. We stayed in the cabins by the lodge. The cabins are a little dated but convenient if you want to spend more than a day exploring. Breakfast was included in the cabin rentals. At the time, the breakfast consisted of bagels, toast, apples, bananas, and cereal. Quick and easy on the go, if you want more, you can purchase a hot breakfast in the lodge. We also took the hike to Slave Falls. This hike was lots of ups and down rocks, and some areas do not have rails. Be prepared with water and walking sticks.

We got married in the grassy area adjacent to the Great waterfall 10 years ago. The park is pretty. I am told if you go during a full moon, you might see a moon- rainbow originating from the tiny droplets scattered by the falls. The restaurant is very nice. Pay attention to the location of boulders, they are in specific places below the waterfall only, due to erosion.

We did not have a room at the hotel on site, however the staff that we encountered was amazing with helpful information and directions, that enhanced our trip. The Falls of Cumberland is beautiful, and a must see at least once in a lifetime. Take time to visit daytime and on full moon nights. We enjoyed the rock formations and the trails around top of the waterfall was breathtaking. Kentucky is hard to beat when it comes to natural beauty. Come play in Kentucky

We stayed in the RV park for 4 days/3 nights in early October 2024. The campground is beautiful, but the sites are perpendicular to the narrow road, very tightly arranged, and difficult/impossible for larger rigs. We had a 20' travel trailer and did not have too big a challenge getting situated. Each site has water and electric that is on a post shared with your neighbor. The park includes cabins, a restaurant, primitive (i.e., non-electric) camping sites, and an RV campground with electric/water/dump station/showers. The showers were typical for a campground but had a good stream of hot water. It was a short drive to many beautiful scenic views and hiking trails. The falls were gorgeous and provided numerous locations for viewing. There were miles of hiking trails (rated moderate) that included grade differential and somewhat treacherous walking over/around large rocks. Hiking sticks are greatly recommended for safety. We enjoyed our stay and would return for a future visit to the area.

Camping sites are too small for what they said would hold the size of camper we have. They were close together too. What we were told the biggest one is for a 29 foot trailer. The one they gave us was a 26 foot site, but we would have been in the road with that if our camper was that long. We had a 19 footer and it barely fit in the site. Breaker box kept flipping off, and was unstable and ready to break off of pole. "Someone probably backed into it." The man said. We were told no electricians were available On the weekend, so we constantly worried about leaving our dogs in the camper. Maintenance man said he was going to drive by to make sure they were OK every hour and he did. If he wouldn't have done that, we would have not been able to go hiking. I tried calling the manager of the park, but she never returned my call. Trails were overgrown and unkepted. Only good part of the trip was the waterfalls. Not coming back.

Driving down this very winding road was fun. When we finally got there, it was around six p m, which was perfect for us. There was hardly anyone around us the whole time. It was so peaceful, and the waterfall truly was amazing. I would love to see the rainbow. Or the moon bow, but that's just another reason for us to go back. Whenever we went there, everything was closed, but it's a very nicely setup park. Lots of trails. Definitely catered to the kids' adventures nearby. When we walked down the trails, I absolutely loved it. You can also go on the other side if you cross the bridge and get a different view. What a great park. We will definitely be going back soon. If you plan on going there, it looks like it closes at midnight. Other than that, it was pretty wide open with its hours. It was also very clean, but make sure to clean up after yourself and watch for black bears.

Cumberland Falls is a great place to get away. The cabins in group 2 (where we stayed) are arranged perfectly to make you feel like you're alone in the middle of the forest, and they have all the essentials you'll need. Anything that's missing you'll probably find in the small store near the campground. Everyone working at the falls was so friendly and knowledgeable about the region, giving us plenty of tips on how to make the most of our time. The lodge is also cute and the buffet-style restaurant has great views of the river valley, even though we cooked on a grill near our cabin each night.

The park is beautiful. We stayed at the Cumberland Falls Resort State Park (campground). The campground ground was clean and quiet. Except the bathrooms they were not cleaned daily. The facilities are nice but not cleaned regularly. If you visit take advantage of the horse trail riding it was a fun experience and the team was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, this area has not had much rain; therefore, some off the falls that we hiked too didn’t have but a trickle of a waterfall. But don’t let that stop you from going because the hikes have breathtaking views.

We felt very blessed to find one room available at the last minute. We were plumb tuckered out after hiking around this wonderful park and to Eagle Falls today. We've never seen a place so conveniently tucked into the park, and we didn't have to drive to a restaurant. Please don't "update". Keep the charm. But you do need a new air conditioner in 109. It is so noisy, we had to turn it off.Although the servers are accommodating, the restaurant serves Sysco food (warmed-up out of a bucket). It will be fun to experience the park at night, and get started early in the morn after sleeping late. After dozens of hotels, this is the first where i could read nice large labels on shower soaps.

We stayed in the RV Camping area. We got here later than we intended to. Saw Campground signs but nothing that said Ridgeline camping? Had to ask someone if we was in the right area. On site to book it states no longer than 30' RV. I now know why. The spots are like little postage stamps. The people on the other side of the rd had to move their car for us to get backed in. Ours is only 21'. Then our electricity and water was a good little ways away from the camper and on the wrong side of us. No other way to park it or move it over to help this situation out... another camper let us barrow another cord till morning and we ran to Walmart for another. Did not like having to disrupt other campers to be able to get set up! But very thankful for them, for it! Yes I know what your thinking. Why not already have a longer cord. Well most places we have camped at 25' is all that was needed! And I now have that plus 30'...

Max in the big pool they do take 15 or 30 min breaks nobody can be at the big pool during this time the kids pool get over populated at times they have picnic tables outside and play ground as well there two slides both times I have went neither of them was open which takes away a star on the rating. Kids 2 and under are free $8.00 for adults and they don't have a the concession stands open either. And they don't play like music like somerset water park. But I still love taking my daughter cause everyone is nice it small and the kids pool has one slide in it . I hope you can find this helpful and thanks for your time be safe and have fun

It's a nice park...only 1 section with full hookups. The D section...there's a pool in the area and a small mini golf area. We didn't do either but saw both on the bike rides. Only thing we thought was odd were the golf cars literally doing the circle of the park nonstop it seems...lots of these all day ...weekend was a full park...lots of activity so not as quiet as some parks. Overall a nice place to visit ...more so for people with kids I guess...

Levi Jackson Wilderness Road Park is a hidden gem! The campground was top-notch, offering clean facilities and a welcoming atmosphere created by the friendly and attentive staff. The campsites are well-maintained, providing both comfort and convenience, whether you're in a tent, RV, or a Mini-T Campervan. The park itself is rich in history and natural beauty, featuring amenities like hiking trails, picnic areas, and a well-curated museum that tells the story of the Wilderness Road and the pioneers who traveled it. The swimming pool and playground make it an excellent destination for families. With its combination of excellent facilities, historical significance, and outdoor activities, Levi Jackson Wilderness Road Park is a fantastic choice for a peaceful and enjoyable camping experience. Highly recommended!

This was the very best vacation I've ever had!! The park is absolutely stunning! So much to do yet when you want to go back to your campsite to relax it is so beautiful and peaceful. I can't get over how clean the restrooms/shower rooms are kept. I'm a professional cleaner so I have high standards and I was very impressed. The office lady was so sweet checking us in and I hate that I forgot her name and the 2 brothers that work there I believe was Anthony and Matthew and you can't find a more helpful pair. They made sure we had everything we needed and checked on us daily. And this young girl named Ashley was the sweetest and I believe she is the one who did such a great job with the restrooms. I can't wait until next summer so I can go back and spend even longer!! If you want to get away yet still have electricity and water and be around the nicest people, you need to get down to Levi Jackson State Park!! I know this sounds like a commercial but I promise it's not and everything I said is 100% fact! :)

Very educational displays for the mill and very clean park. It's still between winter and spring so museum wasn't accessible and will have to return. The cemetery was a bit out of the park but worth the trip to see. The campground has a mini golf course and the pool has some fun features as well. Can't wait to go back when it's warmer.Came back this summer and the museum did not disappoint. Great information. Buildings set up as if it were that time period. $5 entrance fee is not bad. Great local crafts in the gift shop.

Went to Levi Jackson Wilderness Park today especially to the old mill and walked the road of old mill stones that leads to the old mill. I love history and old things that people tend to forget about in this technology fueled world. Seeing all the different sizes of mill stones and thinking what type of grain each stone was used to make gets my mind and imagination races. The simplicity of the mill and how they used the river beside the mill as it's own power source is always amazing to try to put myself back during that time and seeing it first hand. History will never be lost as long as others such as myself are out there bringing history to life for everyone else and in that living history will never fade away into the books. Looking for something new or old then check this place out and walk in the footsteps of history.

This is a really neat park full of old relics from the bygone state park era. But the City of London recently tood it over and have invested heavily in it. It's clean, looks like new playgrounds here and there and has some nice hiking trails. I was in the lodge for a meeting. It was clean and worked well for the meeting. I hope to take the family back to try the tree tops course.

Nice place to camp, we camped next to the bathrooms, and they were clean and had A/C always had hot water for showers, nice playgrounds for the kids, and dog - friendly.

If was pretty cool. Almost got struck by lighting but that's not the campsites fault. Very nice showers, even though theyre the type that you have to keep pressing in. Many bathroom areas, many playgrounds, of varying qualities. Idk if the pool and the high roped thing is properly part of the campsite but those are pretty cool too. The problem, and why it's 4 not 5 stars, is the campsites themselves are really strangely set up. We were camping in a group, so we all had campsites next to each other, but if we hadn't have known each other it would have been really awkward. The campsites almosy if not totally overlap each other in places, and wouldve been weird. Picture of the tree that was struck vs the hammock I was in :)

Things are a little tight in the campground. Also important to note, there is only 1 dumpstation that is located oddly enough toward the back of the campground. There is a tight turn to gain access to the dumpstation.

This is a great place to have a picnic. The old mill is also a lot of fun to see. They do have quiet a few old mill stones if that’s you’re thing. It’s very green and the trees give you a lot of cover.

This is an absolutely wonderful park. The city of London just redid the bottom shelter house and playground. It looks wonderful. There are plenty of places to go walking and is great for the whole family. We love to walk around in the campground, especially during Halloween and Christmas because everyone decorates so well!

Campsites are spacious, and somewhat private. Showers and bathrooms could use some updating and beware the sudden loss of hot water. But are clean and always stocked with TP. We rented the pavilion for our annual family reunion, and everything was as expected. Had a nice time overall, and will be back.

Well the best thing was the convenience of location n needing somewhere to bed for the night... The price was far... Lucky we scored one of the tent sites that had a level spot to park... because we sleep in the van... All sites were very close together... They have all sorts of cool things to do... Like mini golf... However the bathroom was an issue for me mainly the shower the handicap was very small and had n seat to sit only hand rails... For a btk amputee this is dangerously impossible... Thankfully had one for just in case... Don't know if I would stay there again with so many others in the area to explore... Until next time... "Peace&Love"SugerBear

Absolutely beautiful. My wife and I were in town for three days of work and we were trying to get our steps in for our Fitness and the first day we just walked around the parking lot of the shopping center in the blistering heat. Not goodOn the way back from work, we saw the sign that said there was a parking nearby. Thomas check it out and it is beautiful so well-maintained gorgeous playground and picnic shelters and what a fun place to learn a little bit about history with the millstones and mill right by the waterfall .
